They cover maybe 75- 80% of Bristol township, Tullytown and falls. The ambulance in Bristol borough covers the rest of Bristol township. There isnt 4 dedicated units for Bristol township. Not even on a good day. Bensalem has 2 dedicated units 24/7 for their township. I see them in bristol borough a lot covering that area because of the increased call volume. What you should be concerned with is how come municipalities don't fund EMS like they do fire and police? As far as I know Bensalem at least has a clue. The other named agencies (and others around the philly area) have been seen begging for money from businesses because the municipalities treat them like second class workers. One of these days a township supervisor or family member is going to need an ambulance and because of the strain that's put on EMS, it will take longer than normal for them to get help. Then something will get done. Try to concern yourself with the real issues at hand not some BS propaganda"

This is all well and fine posting this since its public knowledge but my question is: Why does Robert Hoopes make $110,000 in Lower South?! He oversees 30 police officers and the fire marshals office. Lower South's population and resources is a fraction of Bensalem's. If anything, I think Fred Harran should make more. He oversees not only a police department but the Paid and volunteer Fire department and EMS. Why does PSD Hoopes make so much? Lower south can fit inside of bensalem twice. I think you're argument is based on misplaced anger and rumors. You should try looking at the bigger picture

ALSO THE MAIN POINT OF THIS, IS THAT THESE OTHER AGENCIES FUNCTION SUCCESSFULLY WITH 'LESS' WHILE BENSALEM TOWNSHIP'S BARELY FUNCTIONS PROPERLY WITH THE 'MORE' IT RECEIVES, AND ALL THE WHILE 222 CONTINUES TO VIOLATE THE LAW. BENSALEM DOES GET MUCH, MUCH MORE, AND AS A RESULT BENSALEM'S EMS SERVICE IS THE HIGHEST PAID SERVICE IN BUCKS COUNTY!  While my hubby and I were out at the mall today, someone happened to leave this note in my possession, while there. Once I read it, it got even me concerned about where the township is putting the $$$ we give it. Read this information below, and see for yourself how bad this truly is.

At our morning get together we were discussing the cost of our Emergency Medical Service. We learned that Bristol Township pays less than half of what we pay and has FOUR ...ALS ambulances available to serve their township! We pay more than twice that amount and get TWO ALS ambulances! A check with surrounding municipalities in addition to Bristol Township shows that once again we have the most expensive EMS service!

Once again we have to ask, where is all the money going?
Meanwhile the volunteer fire companies are constantly threatened by the township with loss of revenue. Now we here they intend to expand the "combination" fire department without the input of the fire service. Amazing, considering how they continue to violate local and federal laws and NOTHNG is done about it.
 
To quote the Church Lady, “Now isn’t that special!” I also find it interesting, how they have the nerve to call 222 a ‘Combination (Paid and Volunteer) Fire Department’, when it’s no such thing! Now before all of you trolls and kool-aid drinking nay-sayers go off, these individuals did some rather thorough research, and always do. If you want to check this out, DO SO! If I were all of you, I’d be asking myself why we are the ONLY municipality in PA that gets host fees form a casino, and also has an EIT. If I were all of you, I’d be asking………

Sorry, but for some reason I can't reply to the post, so I'm having to do this. :D
I did speak to someone with the board of elections, and they're investigating it. They told me this should not have happened. I found it even more interesting that when I stated that I vote according to Scripture, his response of you need to read the OT (Old Testament), was not only condescending, but ridiculous. I told him I read both, and it shut him up. I could bet he was fuming afterwards!! My ears were sure burning!! :p :p :p

UPDATE

I spoke with someone with the Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots, and they informed me it was VERY inappropriate. I called the board of elections, and they concurred somewhat. They said what they were supposed to do, but didn't is give everyone who votes a special card that indicates their party, and give it to the machine worker. I told her that I found this VERY inappropriate, and told her the name of the poll worker. I think there is a much better way to accomplish this without openly asking, and the things this lout said to me were even more insulting!!

JUST CURIOUS:

Is it appropriate for an election poll worker (especially one who is working the actual voting machines) to ask you if you are voting Democratic or Republican?? Someone did this to me when I went to vote at Lower Middle 4 this AM, and I found it VERY offensive. My response really got his goat, because when I said that I Vote the Bible, he said to read the Old Testament. I responded that I read both. Apparently this guy really doesn't get it!
So to everyone who votes at Polanka Hall, be careful of this poll worker. He's the one next to the voting machines. Above all....

Why hasn't the Director of Public Safety gone on TV as he usually does and asked for any additional victims of the "Official Oppression" incident at the Eddington Fire Company to come forward? Seems very strange to us considering that the victim was not a member of the Eddington Fire Company! ... I guess in Bensalem it truly is who you know! YES IT TRULY IS WHO YOU KNOW IN THIS TOWN, BECAUSE IF THIS WERE IN ANY OTHER TOWN, THIS WOULD'VE BEEN INVESTIGATED MORE PROPERLY, AND THE MAN RESPONSIBLE WOULD BE FACING MORE SERIOUS CHARGES. A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THIS IS HOW SHERRIFF LOBO GOT AWAY WITH USING HIS TOWNSHIP ISSUED SUV FOR QUESTIONABLE/ILLEGAL THINGS, DESPITE EVIDENCE TO SHOW IT'S REALITY.

SOME CONCERNED CITIZENS OF BENSALEM, ATTENDED THE ‘OPEN HOUSE’ THAT TOOK PLACE AT THE BENSALEM TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND IT WAS EVERYTHING THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE: A DOG AND PONY SHOW! THESE CONCERNED CITIZENS DID A LITTLE DIGGING, BY ASKING NOT ONLY HIS MAJESTY, BUT ALSO OUR EVER SO WONDERFUL REPUBLICAN COUNCIL MEMBERS SOME SERIOUS QUESTIONS, AND THE ANSWERS, OR LACK THEREOF WILL SHOCK YOU. WHEN I FOUND THIS ON MY DOORSTEP THIS MORNING, AND READ IT, EVERYTHING I’VE BEEN SAYING WAS CONFIRMED, AND MORE SO! CHECK OUT WHAT THEY SENT ME BELOW, AND SEE THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELF.
We thought you would find this interesting. We attended the open house at the police station. It was exactly what we thought it would be. Several councilmen were approached by different members of our group. Each, had the same rehearsed speech; "the police department takes up 75% of the township income from taxes and the casino". When it was pointed out that the police department always takes up 75% of a municipality’s income when you have a full time police department, they gave us the blank stare. The Mayor told several members of our group that he would not lay off police officers; it was a matter of public safety. When asked about cutting back like the volunteer fire companies had to do when he reduced the amount of funding they were getting, he said he didn't understand. Several members pointed out areas of the township government that could sustain personnel reductions. We provided information that two members of his staff left and were not replaced. Either they were not needed in the first place, or we were wasting a large amount of money on excess personnel. He told us we did not understand how government works. We responded, that we did understand, that's why he was having such a hard to blowing smoke up our...
As long as the public looks where those in power tell them to look, they will never really discover the waste!
It's time for the public to open their eyes and really hold these people accountable....it didn't take long for the police department to start spending the additional money from the EIT to promote additional lieutenants that were not needed! I guess it pays to target citizens the elected officials want targeted.

Hey gang!! It's another 'look at me' stunt by Sherriff Lobo!! I guess he feels the need to justify the tax increase. You know, the EIT that you refused to believe would ever happen, that was voted on my the REBUBLICAN MAJORITY on Council. I just heard today, that they are already hiring and promoting! How about doing something useful with the money, and eliminate the deficit!! All the while, the Democrats REFUSE to hold them accountable. Needless to say, they will burn through the new money fast, which means that Bensalem will wind up like Atlantic City.

WHAT A ‘SURPRISE’!!!!

I was out getting some errands done around town, when someone placed this little note inside my cart/basket while I was in K-Mart, yesterday. Apparently the firefighters FINALLY get what is going on in this town, and are completely disgusted. I know many others are just a s sick and disgusted by this EIT being put into place, despite our town being the ONLY ‘host township’ to get guaranteed revenue from a casino, and they want answers. Read what they sen...t me below, and see if it doesn’t make you sick too.

 
We were watching the news and listened to the Governor of NJ talking about bloated government in Atlantic City. He stated that the bloated government is what is causing the downfall of that city.
Interesting, the same thing is happening in Bensalem. We heard the Mayor complain about the Federal government, the State government and even the Casino for not providing enough funding for our township. One of our Councilmen complained that the police department takes up 75% of the township budget. He ‘forgot’ to mention that the police department has ALWAYS taken up 75% of the township budget! We always had a balanced budget BEFORE the 33% increase in funds provided by the casino….The police department IS NOT the problem. The problem is the political hires within our township government and the continued unnecessary expenditures to appease those in power.
Take a look around Bensalem, we are not too far behind Atlantic City! 
 
YES IT IS TRUE, IT’S VERY TRUE!!! Bensalem Township is not very far from becoming just like Atlantic City, BLOATED CORRUPT AND SINFUL!!! I have been stating this for years, but you all have refused to listen (Especially you cowardly democrats!), and now we have an EIT, constant spending issues, and a government that is leading us to bankruptcy. As the firefighters stated in this, the police department has no FINANCIAL problems, (They have MORAL and ETHICAL ones in their leadership!), but the problems lie in the politically connected hires within our township government, as well as the out of control spending to please “His Majesty” and others in power. My strong advice to EVERY resident and concerned citizen of this town is to NOT forget this EIT travesty next year, and vote EVERY person on council who voted FOR this!! I also advise EVERY cowardly democrats who have been doing NOTHING about this, (Yes, you’ve done NOTHING!!), to get off your collective keisters, and start doing something. You were offered a guaranteed way to bring revenue onto this town, but you not only didn’t use it, you DENIED ever getting it!! All I can say on this is that I warned you, but you didn’t listen, so…..

Why is it that this former cop who committed $25.00 level crime, gets a jail sentence of 3 to 23 months in prison, while a corrupt and EVIL individual like Andy Aninsman, stole a cell phone from a defendant, as well as other items from other defendants, repeatedly interfered with the arrest of the same subject, and falsified records on this matter, gets to ‘quietly leave the department’ keep his pension, and NOTHING is done to him? Even better yet, he gets two township detectives to come to MY place of residence, to make false accusations?? When you have the time as well as the courage, think about and DO something about this!!
