Boy, did I EVER have an interesting day!! Not only did I see this massive waste of taxpayer $$$ of roads in this town, that aren’t needed (yet), but I also see that we are continuing to spend $$$ like water! Then, as I arrived at my home, I see this wonderful note at my door Tuesday, and after not only reading it, but also typing it, I had to share. Seems like His Majesty is at it again with his deception and the honorable citizen first responders of this town have had enough. Check out what they shared with me and see for yourself how irresponsible and devious YOUR mayor and puppet Republican majority council truly is!
We couldn’t wait to get together as emergency responders in Bensalem to discuss the 10 million dollar bond to repair township roads.
Once again we are left asking where is all the Parx Casino money going?!!! We get more than 13 million dollars ANNUALLY from the casino on top of their local taxes! Despite all the money, our Mayor wants MORE! He still has not provided ANY REAL INFORMATION regarding where all the money is going.
Some interesting information for your readers
1. Barbara Barnes (the Mayor’s long time “assistant”) retired with an AMAZING retirement package and left the state.
2. The volunteer firefighters no longer get their check at the end of the year.
3. The paid fire department continues to violate manning and the fair labor standards act.
4. Our EMS unit gets three times the funding that Bristol Township provides and only has two ALS units up where Bristol has three! They also collect fees for their services and an annual fund drive bringing in millions of dollars on top of the million plus they get from the taxpayer.
5. When the casino was being pushed through the Mayor said half the money would go to the school district to reduce taxes. That never happened!
6. The Mayor also said there would be no increase in crime, yet the Police Department has added 30 additional officers!
7. The Mayor claims he would not cut service because it was a ‘public safety issue’. Yet, not only has there been NO increase in calls for police service(even though the Public Safety Director is now ordering incident report numbers to be issued like candy), the clearance rate for crimes HAS NOT INCREASED significantly.
8. There is now a special “D” unit that patrols the RT. 1 hotels taking more officers away from patrolling ALL the neighborhoods.
9. We have the ONLY police department in the County where more than 50% of its sworn officers are NOT in the patrol division.
10. Our Township reserve fund went from 72 million at the start of the casino funding to less than 43 million!
The volunteer fire service has been damaged, by the poor planning and policies of the Public Safety Director and the elected officials.
There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY for all the funds given to the Bensalem Rescue Squad. Including the establishment of an UNNEEDED technical rescue team created by the rescue squad that has cost hundreds of thousands of dollars with no benefit to the emergency services OR the taxpayers funding it!
We have more than $1.5 million tied up in police commander salaries and benefits, including commanders assigned to jobs “that prevents them from doing any real damage to the police department”.
When will it end?
Where is all the money going Your Majesty?? You make claims about needing to increase public safety for the citizens of this town, but as these concerned first responders state; “There has been NO increase in calls for police service (even though the Public Safety Director is now ordering incident report numbers to be issued like candy), the clearance rate for crimes has not increased significantly.” Seems like you’ve been caught in a major lie, and now both you and Sherriff Lobo, are trying to justify it with useless and FALSE paperwork! Worse yet, you’ve hired $1.5 million dollars’ worth of individuals who shouldn’t even be in the BTPD!! Even worse, the volunteer fire service members are further disrespected, by no longer giving them their annual $500.00 stipend! Sorry, Your Majesty, but we the people of this town are NOT falling for it. Most of all, we the concerned citizens of Bensalem, will NOT allow OUR hard earned tax $$$ to be abused and spent wilder than a drunken sailor on shore leave.

MORE AND MORE DEBT
As usual, our illustrious mayor and his puppet council spend more and more $$$ that we DON'T have, all to satisfy 'His Majesty's narcissistic (Yes I said it!) desires. Meanwhile, the democrats of this town do NOTHING OF A SUBSTANTIAL NATURE to hold His Majesty, and Sherriff Lobo accountable for their sinful actions. All I can say is....
