Absolute power corrupts absolutely…and now, for the facts. The Bensalem fire service has been asking for copies of the SAFER grant for years. Here is some of the background. Bensalem Township applied for the SAFER grant in 2008. In September 2009, Bensalem Township was awarded the SAFER grant to hire 4 firefighters. When the fire service repeatedly asked for the operating procedures for the new paid firefighters, Fred Harran and the Fire Marshal's Office ignored the requests for information. In 2010, the Chief and President of each fire company were called to a meeting with Fred Harran, the Fire Marshal's Office and Mayor DiGirolamo. When the representatives of the fire companies asked what the meeting was about, Fred Harran would not tell them. Prior to this meeting, several of the current Bensalem Township Council members gave their word that the new paid crew would not involve funds being taken from the volunteer fire companies. At the meeting, Fred Harran announced that the Township would be taking $24,500.00 from each fire company to help pay for the paid firefighters. When several of the fire companies voiced concerns about the $24,500.00 not being enough to pay for the new paid Fire Company when the grant expired, Fred Harran refused to provide a funding plan. Simple math shows when you multiply $24,500. By 6 you get; $147,000.00. The salaries alone for the 4 paid firefighters equals: $160,000.00 without benefits and a pay increase! Needless to say, we don't trust Fred Harran or the councilmen who gave us their word they would not take funds from the volunteer fire companies. Now Fred Harran is using the police department to harass members of a fire company that questioned the way the paid fire company is being funded! When the fire companies raised concerns about the location and construction of the training center, Fred Harran ignored the questions. Now, because of the failure to address the concerns, we have a $5,000,000.00 facility without a sprinkler system and without the ability of providing live class A fire training to our members! They laid off the Township Fire Marshal and now rely on the Newtown Township Fire Marshal to investigate fires in Bensalem. His vehicle was clearly visible at the fire in Hidden Valley where two Township firefighters were injured. If we would have laid off from the bottom instead of the top, we would still have a qualified fire investigator. We wonder if Newtown Township is aware that they are supplying a vehicle and investigator to Bensalem Township. Or is this another backdoor attempt to move this person into the Township Fire Marshal's office? Fred Harran has admitted to the township fire service on several occasions that he knows little to nothing about the fire service. We believe you Fred, there is no reason to keep proving it to us. Fred Harran with the help of several people within the Fire Marshal's office have eliminated the Township Fire Marshal, spent millions on a training center that does not meet our training needs and continues to damage the fire service in Bensalem Township. Very soon, we will be forwarding to you a breakdown of the SAFER grant that points out the false and misleading information that was included in the Bensalem SAFER grant application. The appropriate Federal Agencies will also be supplied with the correct information. MORE TO FOLLOW

I think what I find so interesting, is that Harran is "playing with fire", when it comes to this matter. The Bible clearly states that when it comes to sin, it "finds you out" in the end, and that's just what it is doing to Freddie boy. Apparently, Freddie boy is also starting to lose it, with the threatening and harassing of members within a fire department. His sin is being exposed, and he can't handle it, so he is doing this to try to protect himself. Trust me Harran, you're a lousy and dishonest investigator, public safety director, and human being, whom God will judge. One of these days, you'll get arrested and fired from your job, and when it happens, it won't be pretty. However, there will be LOTS of rejoicing.

Ed "Parking Lot" Kisselback

This is a re-post of an oldie but goody, that I intend to make sure to Further Expose.

Councilman Kisselback owns the old strip mall at Route 13 and Gravel Pike. His Kiss Photography business is located there along with several other businesses that are his tenants.

I still can't believe that no one has questioned the township parking lot behind Councilman Kisselback's business on Bristol pk. Why did we claim this parking lot for township property? Are there any other parking lot only properties owned by the township? Why just this one?

Reportedly, not a few of our local Republican office holders cheat on their wives, some quite openly. Private investigator and former LE3 Republican Committeewoman Liz Bourne has often referred to the Bensalem Republican Party as the "nuts and sluts club" even though she remains supportive and active in it. It has been alleged that years ago, Kisselback and his mistress/girlfriend had a disagreement, during which, his mistress tried to burn down Kisselback's store and strip mall. Wouldn't it be interesting to have been a volunteer fireman on that fire call?

Now aside from the adultery, wouldn't you like to know how he was able to get his parking lots declared "Township Property", just to get them re-paved??

While I am very glad that this poor woman is getting help, to me, this is another VALID reason to either shut PARX down, or make the Bensalem PD do their jobs!!! Too many lives are being ruined for the almighty $$$, and as usual the Republicans and the police in this town, Don't Care!!

Something To Really Think About

As many of you know, a former Philadelphia Police Inspector, was found guilty of lying to the FBI, and several other Officers within the past year have been brought up on corruption charges that Chief Ramsey has referred to as "Dishonoring the badge", and their badges (If not already) have been melted down, so they can't be used.
When I heard this, I started wondering why certain individuals like a former Bensalem Police Captain, and many others, didn't have the same thing done to them?? The former police captain dishonored his badge, by his racist remarks and illegal towing practices towards minorities, but he was allowed to retire with a full pension! Others officers in this department have done dishonored their badges, by doing despicable things including sexual assault, allowed to retire with their pensions as well, and NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT THEM!!

IT REALLY MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT GOES ON WITHIN OUR TOWN AS WELL AS OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT

In case you're wondering, we obtained a copy of the grant via the Freedom of Information Act, and discovered the following Issues in red:
A Utilizing a five-year federal grant totaling $433,520, the township decided to hire four full-time firefighter/fire inspectors in October.
The grant was filled out fraudulently.
B. If you look at the date on this Grant Application, you see it was done 06-26-2008. If this is a 5 year grant, why is it that THEY SAT ON THE GRANT FOR 3 YEARS!!
C. They also state on the application, that this is an ALL Volunteer Organization. THAT'S TOTALLY UNTRUE. The Volunteer fire departments have PAID fire Chiefs
D. They state that they will pay for the remaining costs that the grant won't cover through through "inspection fees and other reimbursed fees, and

In the first three years, there should be no impact (on local expenditures)."

If this is the case, why are they planning on taking (If they hadn't already.) $40,000 from EACH volunteer fire department??

E.They're claiming that the volunteers are not accepting of this.

"Some volunteers feel threatened, thinking that we're going to go to an all-paid department. Nothing could be further from the truth," he continued.

Harran added, "You're always going to have a group of people who don't want to change with the times. But this is something needed, and the township and mayor recognized it. He does not mess around when it comes to public safety."

The volunteers have been concerned about this, because of how its going to be funded, in particular how they are having to give $20,000 per fire house! They are also concerned over not having been given the SAFERS Grant voluntarily, but had to obtain it under the Freedom of Information Act, because Harran REFUSED to give it to them!!

I for one can't wait for when the Fire Fighters come up to Council, and make Fred Squirm!!

When Public Safety Director Fred Harran told the Bensalem Township Fire Chief's about the SAFER'S grant, the Chiefs asked how the program would be run. Public Safety Director told them, he would get back to them. He told them not to worry about it.

When Public Safety Director Fred Harran continued to withhold information, the Fire Chief's and several of the fire company presidents asked to see the grant. Public Safety Director Fred Harran refused to show it to them. He told them not to worry about it. Director of Public Safety Fred Harran continues to refuse to show the Fire Chiefs what is in the grant despite repeated requests.

When a year passed after receiving the grant award on September 19th, 2009 and the paid firefighters were still not hired, the Fire Chief's asked Public Safety Director Fred Harran why it was taking so long. Public Safety Director Fred Harran told them not to worry about it.

When Public Safety Director Fred Harran told the Fire Chiefs that there would be two paid firefighters on the new fire engine, the fire chiefs told him you need a minimum of three firefighters on the engine according to the National Fire Protection Association standards. Public Safety Director Fred Harran told them not to worry about it.

When the Fire Chiefs asked Public Safety Director Fred Harran why with the increase in personnel in the Fire Marshal's office they continue not to get building inspection and hazard reports, Public Safety Director Fred Harran told them not to worry about it.

Now, Public Safety Director Fred Harran tells the Fire Chiefs and Presidents of the fire companies that he will be taking over $24,000.00 from each fire company to offset the costs of this new program. The firefighters ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT!

More money will have to be taken from the volunteer fire companies because the $24,000.00 from each fire company will not cover the salaries of the paid firefighters and their benefits package when the grant money runs out.

What the public fails to realize is that the volunteer fire companies in ....Bensalem.. ..Township.... are often asked to perform non-firefighting duties in addition to their fire and rescue duties to assist the other emergency services with no additional funds provided.

The fire companies were asked to provide first response units to assist the ambulance service due to the volume of calls. The fire companies trained their personnel, purchased equipment and utilize their vehicles to respond to emergency medical calls and assist patients until a transport ambulance arrives. The transport ambulance collects a fee for the service; however the fire companies do not collect a fee for the service they provide. No additional funding was offered to the fire companies.

The fire companies are often asked to provide fire police, supplies and vehicles for traffic control to relieve the paid police officers when roadways are blocked. No additional funding was offered to the fire companies.

Can you imagine the reaction of Director of Public Safety Fred Harran if the township government told him that they were adding an additional police service, and then taking money away from him in the same breath?

The fire companies were not consulted (with the exception of a few paid township employees) about this paid firefighter program. Isn't that odd?
The paid fire company will provide service 10 hours a day, five days a week. However, the full complement of firefighters will only be working together, 3 days a week! That means 2 of the 5 days there will only be 2 paid firefighters on duty.

The other firefighter/inspectors respond to calls in their township vehicles. To this date, these "street response" fire inspectors come to the fire scene, do not report to the fire ground commander that they are there and begin fire operations. Firefighter accountability on a fire scene has been stressed for years by the National Fire Protection Association. This is in direct violation of National Fire Protection Association standards. When this was brought to Public Safety Director Fred Harran's attention, he told us he would look into it. We guess he is still looking.

Public Safety Director Fred Harran told us that the fire inspectors were suppose to respond to the nearest fire company and ride the apparatus instead of passing the fire station and going to the fire scene. We are still waiting for that to happen. Is it really believable that 5 fire inspector vehicles were closer to the fire scene then a fire station? Public Safety Director Harran told us he would look into it. We are still waiting.

We read in the paper that several people made comments that the fire service has redundant equipment. We never know for sure which fire station will be able to man multiple pieces of fire apparatus. Stations with additional personnel, man the additional apparatus. Personnel availability changes on a weekly basis due to work schedules and other commitments by the firefighters.

The police department has numerous extra vehicles and equipment that continue to push the police budget up. No one questions the additional equipment.

The ambulance company has five ambulances and officer vehicles (5) and mans two ambulances full time and one part time. They receive tax support, donations and collect fees. No one questions the additional equipment.

Public Safety Director Fred Harran stated that the call numbers for the fire service are up, so he cuts their budget!

Someone commented that the Union Fire Company uses Hummers as Chiefs vehicles. I guess the person didn't due their homework. The Hummers cost LESS then the Ford Expeditions that some of the other township emergency services and Public Safety Director Fred Harran drive. The Hummers have five cylinder engines. This means they get better gas mileage in addition to the lower purchase price! How could that possibly make the other firefighters look bad?

The 10 million dollars received by the township from the state gaming commission was to offset costs for increased services resulting from the casino. Here is an increased service, where is the money?

When the volunteer fire service asked the township about the funds received from the casino and how they were going to be used, we never received an answer. How can we find out what they are doing with the money? If we can't get an answer from the township, who do we ask?

The volunteer fire service is not perfect. However, it continues to provide quality services based on nationally recognized standards. We have always worked with and in support of the township. I wish they could say the same!

I am sure you are going to hear from some of the fire chiefs that they support this funding cut. Before you give their statements any validity, make sure and check to see if they are one of the employed fire inspectors.

Well, guess what?? the Firefighters FINALLY got a copy of the Safers Grant, and they discovered that Freddie boy FALSIFIED information to obtain the grant!! What's even worse, is that the mayor and township council know about it, yet NOTHING is being done! Other brave individuals have been confronting Harran on this, and he can't answer them honestly! IF he answers, its either stuttering, sputtering, or making false accusations/ threats against the person, (He's even threatened to have one of the fire departments closed down!! That's interfering with Public Safety!!) but its NOT going to work, Fred.  I believe that the feds will DEFINITELY be interested in this matter.
You know Harran, you and your inner circle can threaten the rest of us all you want. We will not remain silent and we will demand answers.

A Close Encounter of the Joey D Kind!

Just yesterday afternoon, my hubby and I were in the parking lot of the Giant on Street Road, to do some necessary food shopping, when as we were proceeding to park, a HUGE black Ford Expedition comes barreling up on us!! This truly scared both myself and my spouse, who doesn't mince words with careless drivers, and stated "Are we in a hurry, chief?" I looked into the front window of the SUV, and noticed that the driver of this monstrosity was none other than Joey D himself!! My first thought, was "What is he doing here among the 'little people'?", I then remembered back this past year (2010), when we and another scary encounter with a BIG Black SUV driven by THE SAME PERSON, but while traveling up Galloway Rd, near Grace Ave. At this moment, I became angry, because here is a person who is supposed to set an example for the people he serves, (In both instances!) nearly causing an accident!! This bothered me, because IF we had been hit in whether of these instances, my husband and I could have been seriously hurt, and my husband's livelihood (Tennis Instructor) would've have been jeopardized. Apparently, our "wonderful" mayor thinks that he is not only above the law, but also above common courtesy. My strong advice for Henry VIII, is to re-take driving classes, and above all...

As per Mr. Waitze's usual, he takes bits and pieces of Scripture, and distorts them to support his own views. He fails to quote the complete passage, in particular what
Jesus himself said to the lawyer in Mark 12:28-34. Mr. Waitze also fails to quote Genesis 1:27 in which it specifically states, "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." He falsely claims that no where in the Bible does it state that marriage is to be between a man and a woman, when in Matthew 19:4-6 specifically state the opposite. The Bible goes even further to state that homosexuality is an abomination Leviticus 18:22, and Romans 1:26-27, and shows God's response to the lifestyle of those in Sodom and Gomorrah, in Genesis 19. As for the assertion of Jacob being married to more than one woman, it was mentioned in the Scriptures, not as something God approved of, but as something for men to AVOID, because it leads to conflict (See I Samuel 1, and Kings 11.), and strife.

Like other so-called "democrats" Mr. Waitze states that it is "partisan nonsense" to believe that Republicans are more charitable than democrats, which is nothing more that a discriminatory shot at not only Republicans, but also Bible believing Born Again Christians such as myself. There are several faith based organizations that do the very things that "liberal" organizations do, but they do it following the principles found in Acts 2.

Mr. Waitze's statement of "Many people, including Democrats, don't try to remove God from anywhere. What they do is try to prevent our tax dollars from supporting particular religious beliefs." Is totally untrue, as I can cite several instances of liberal democrat controlled government "overwhelmingly support liberal judges who try to remove God, crosses and nativity scenes from coins, public places and schools." In short they are clearly trying to criminalize Christianity! A big example of this, is how the government attempted to stop the National Day of Prayer, but as of yesterday, a panel of the U.S. court of appeals overturned a ruling that previously found the law requiring the President to proclaim a National Day of Prayer each year as unconstitutional. If you want further proof, go to www.adf.org, which is the Alliance Defense Fund. They report on how government IS trying to criminalize Christianity, and how Christians such as myself are taking a stand against it.

Its very clear to this writer, that Mr. Waitze has failed to successfully show where Mr. Staedtler has made false or inaccurate statements concerning liberal democrats, but is only trying to make true Christians such as myself look like uncaring bigots, which is far from the truth. WE firmly believe in loving the sinner, yet hating the sin, which is what Christ did. We also believe in one nation UNDER GOD, which is what our founding fathers believed as well, not government controlled religion!

Maybe Mr. Waitze should think and check his own sources before saying something ignorant.

"If the District Attorney's Office has its way, they will rush this case to verdict early enough not to impact the November elections."

While out last Thursday, I found this on my doorstep, and had to share.

On Monday night, the 6 fire companies Presidents met with the Mayor and Council President. They are not going to charge us the $2500.00 every year for the Township audit and they are going to place on the ballot a 1/4 mill fire tax, we were not on the ballot in November with the squad because we were not told about it until it was OK by the county for them to be on the ballot. They also said they would find a way to help us pay for the new radio system we are ordered to which will cost a bundle for each company. Harran has violated the Garcia Act, and the Council has violated several township codes. My question is, why are we fighting this alone, we as volunteers have sacrificed a lot to serve this township and no one seems to care what the township is doing to it's citizens and the volunteers, we volunteers deserve better than this.

This is for the democrats of this town, as well as any Firefighter who has had it with the corruption and lies of those running this town:
If you want to effect REAL change, Start speaking with each other!!! Work together for this, and you will succeed!!

Rude Boy At It Again!!

I recently watched another installment of the "vacuum Chamber" AKA Council Meeting, in which I saw good ole Rude boy in action again. He was putting down someone from Philadelphia (near Andalusa) over two upcoming cell phone towers, who was going to raise concerns over it being in his area. Apparently, these particular agenda item(s) were going to be put off or at least another two to three weeks, when an individual from Philly wanted to say something on it, but was IMMEDIATELY shot down by none other than "rude boy Szafran himself!! It then brought to mind this oldie but goody from a council meeting session that took place back in September, over a housing development that the citizens of Linconia did NOT want, and this is how it went:
I recently had the displeasure of seeing Joseph "Rude Boy"Szafran and Tony "Dog and Pony Show" Belfield live up to their awful nicknames, and equally as despicable reputations at a past council meeting. When a gentleman referred to the planned town homes as "glorified apartment complexes". As soon as this exited out of the this poor person's mouth, BOTH "rude boy" and Dog and Pony Show", immediately launched a verbal assault on this poor man the likes of which I have not seen since a WWE promo being cut by HHH. This man held his ground, saying that he was from the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, and felt that he knew what he was talking about, but the two not only ignored him, they belittled him further, by claiming that since they were also originally from Philly, and still had family there, this man had NO RIGHT to say what he said!!! Trust me, I have encountered both of them, and find them to be a complete waste of time and space. They neither intimidate, nor do they impress me in any way!



Apparently, "Rude Boy" still doesn't get it, so we need to let him know that this behavior will not be tolerated. We democrats in Bensalem need to go to EVERY council meeting, and start challenging and questioning them on this, as well as their silence concerning the volunteer firefighters and how Harran is discriminating against them and violating the law (The Garcia Act) in regards to the formation of the paid fire department. Well, Rude Boy, I think you need to be reminded of the fact, that election day is coming soon, and the righteous WILL have their say.

Until then be careful what you say in the future......

Something To Think About

For those that read the Scriptures, there are two instances found in I Samuel 24:3-22 and 26:5-25, in which David, while being pursued by then King Saul, had ample opportunity to kill Saul.  Despite this, David refused because he respected Saul, and referred to him as "the Lord's anointed". He even on both of these occasions, confronted Saul on this wanting to know just why he (Saul) was pursuing him. Despite Saul's "contrition" he never really changed, and in the end God took Saul's life in battle.  In case you're wondering what I am getting at, read below:    

You see, a lot like these two instances there are things concerning the township and certain individuals within the BTPD, that bother me:
  There is a discipline code called, "conduct unbecoming an officer" (This is the basis on which they fired Sgt. Marran, over the alleged rape of a female paramedic.) My concern, is that why hasn't this used on Fred Harran who is now the Public safety Director, concerning the accusation that he filled out the Safers Grant fraudulently, as well as went against township ordinances in forming the paid fire department? I have also been learning a few things based on a great deal of investigation, that have been asserted by other reliable sources, concerning Harran, Ponticelli, and others, that if I were mean enough I would put on here, I would and insist that they be held to the same standard, but they involve innocent people, and its not my style to hurt the innocent.  However, the lies Harran told about the Safers Grant, and the formation of the paid fire department need to be reported to the PA Attorney general, and if I were the volunteer firefighters, I'd do it! I'd also advise the Bensalem Democrats to capitalize on this, and start asking questions.

JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

The New Gym

This Was Given To Me By A Concerned Citizen of This Town:

I am writing this to see if anyone has information regarding the gym being built at the high school. What is the cost of the gym?
Several years ago, the township received a $2,000,000.00 grant from the outgoing Governor of Pennsylvania for a community center.


The Mayor said it would cost too much money to hire personnel to run the community center.


I understand that the money was given to the school district to build the new gym (it wasn’t given back to the state). This was done with the understanding that the community will be able to use the gym.


I am sure for safety reasons that the public will not be permitted to use the gym during school hours. I also believe that the public will not be able to use the gym after school when the students have after school activities.


That leaves the hours after 10:00 at night and before school starts in the morning for the public to use the gym.


I believe that would require that the school district hire personnel to run the gym for the public! As the school board has just raised taxes (again), how much more will they have to be raised to hire all these additional employees or pay overtime to run the gym after hours?


What about the activities that would have utilized the community center that cannot be carried out in the new gym?

Do you even think you are going to succeed with this, let alone have it work??? You have really stepped to a new low!!! Let me explain something to everyone on here. This system is great for cars, but like every new technological device, it has weaknesses.  Like cars, if you have someone who is resourceful and intelligent enough to remove it, they will, no matter how sophisticated and seemingly complicated you make it. You see, this is like an ankle bracelet, which can be removed, disconnected, and/or torn off like every other tracking device. For this to be truly effective, it will have to be implanted into a person!! Trust me, when that happens,
I WON'T BE HERE!! I'll be with the Lord.

An Example of Harran Lying!!

This is a re-post from 2009, but it shows just how much of a LIAR Fred Harran is!!

I was at the NAACP event in 2009 to listen to the candidates speak. I was particularly interested in the number of ranking police officers (including Council President Kisselback's son) that were there.

The police chief stated that there were no racial issues within the police department. I can tell you different. My cousin is a good student and works at night to pay his way through school. After he left work, he was walking home when the police stopped him. They said that a black man committed a robbery in the area. My cousin did not match the height or clothing description. The only thing he matched was being black. I thought being black in public was not a crime anymore. My cousin was handcuffed and taken to the police station. He was accused of committing a robbery despite not matching the description of the robber!

When my family complained about his treatment, we met with a Lieutenant at the police station. The Lieutenant could offer no explanation for my cousin's arrest. The Lieutenant admitted that my cousin did not match the description of the robber. In fact, the Lieutenant admitted that my cousin was not even close (other then being black) to fitting the description. When we asked if it was committed by a white suspect, would all white people be handcuffed and brought to the police station even if they didn't match the description of the robber? The Lieutenant did not respond.

The only time we see the politicians in Linconia is when they are running for election or have racial problems and want to be seen as minority friendly.

When I have spoken to the few officers within the police department that are minorities, they admitted that there are problems. They choose not to speak of them because they say nothing will be done.

My parents are well aware of the long history of former Captain Robinson and his attitude towards African-Americans. He was allowed to retire with no penalty for his many negative statements and actions regarding African-Americans.

The long standing politicians spoke about all the things they have done (I noted none mentioned anything in particular) and their willing to continue holding office.

The Mayor spoke about the number of police officers that have been hired since he took office. Can anyone show me where more police officers equals safer properties?

Let's see all of Harran's Lies:
1. There are NO racial issues within the department

2. We have a fully functional training center for the Firefighters
3. Rosalie Flemkie took "early retirement"
4. I don't have to show anyone the Safers Grant
Creating an atmosphere of fear is not the answer to safer communities.......
AND NEITHER IS LYING FREDDIE BOY!!
