We
raised taxes to provide THREE ambulances in our
township. After the raising of the taxes the part time third ambulance was
moved from the Cornwells Fire Company where due to response times, it was
needed and moved to the substation of the Newport Fire Company. Now, it was taken out of service all
together! Does that mean the township
intends to return the tax to its lower levy due
to the reduced service? Is the township
going to restore the funds taken away from the volunteer fire stations in the
past, the amount they have taken this year starting in January or the projected
amount for 2015?
What
about the Director of Public Safety refusing to address
the obvious violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act regarding the paid
firefighters who are also members of volunteer fire companies in our
township? Why did the Director of Public
Safety list our fire service as a combination
paid/volunteer fire department, when he illegally
created the separate paid fire company?
Where did the money come from for the new paid fire engine?
The
Bensalem volunteer fire service wants to know!
Not
only does the fire service want to know, but the concerned citizens of this
town want to know as well. After all, "his majesty" and Haman claimed
that this was a vital need for the township, and it would save lives. Despite
the EMS having documented financial issues, and its president being unwilling
to answer questions in an HONEST fashion, they still coerced this tax increase,
and now it’s biting them in the behind!!
START ANSWERING YOUR MAJESTY!!
