Question: How many municipalities added an earned income tax after receiving revenue from a casino in Pennsylvania?

Answer: You are living in the only one!

Question: Guess who was demonized and maligned during the entire council meeting session??

Have to say this is a very detailed and well thought out article on what happened December 7th. However, I hate to break it o all of you, but I told you so!! You failed to believe me, when I said this was going to happen and now it has. So, in the immortal words of Lt. Nyota Uhura from Star Trek III, “Be careful what you wish for, Lieutenant. You might just get it!” Well, now you have it!! The biggest issue I have with this, is how people were demonizing apartment dwellers, like they’re some type of scum because they don’t ‘pay their share’, when they more than do. Instead of demonizing and slandering people who live in apartment complexes, people should be asking just what deficit specifically within the budget will be 'covered' by this extra $9 million. In short, where in the budget is the deficit at, and show specifically where each department made their 'cuts'? I do have to admire Bryan Allen for FINALLY getting a spine, and taking his majesty and Sherriff Lobo to task, for the exorbitant police budget, but I think it would’ve been even more fun seeing Lobo squirm when asked about his misuse of his township issued SUV, and allowing Andy Aninsman to get away with obstruction of justice. Personally, I think it’s time we demand a recall of EVERY person who voted for this budget, starting with his majesty!!

I watched the township’s council meeting last night and was completely disgusted! After getting this bit of info from some very concerned citizens, I see I’m not the only one! Check this latest bit of info I received as I came in the door this afternoon, and see for yourself, just how disgusted and fed up people are over last night.

We got together today as members of the emergency services and taxpayers to discuss what we witnessed last evening from our elected officials….shocking is not the word.
We will start with the Director of Public Safety who appears to want to use tragedy and ignorance to create a sense of never ending dread and fear among the population of our township. He used this to justify his ever inflated budget to justify supervisory positions for political favorites. This is the only police department in the area where more than half the sworn officers DO NOT work in the community! They remain in the police station in “special assignments”.
Despite the new incident report system put in by the Director of Public Safety to increase numbers to justify an oversized police department, the calls for service for the Bensalem Police Department have not risen significantly for more than 30 years! Furthermore, the number of police officers assigned to the patrol division is the same as it was in 1976! We have more supervisors and more special units and personnel assigned outside the township than we ever did! Why? To draw in money for the police department while doing nothing to reduce crime in Bensalem! Two members of the police department are assigned to the DEA office in Philadelphia. Besides bringing money into the township for working investigations in Philadelphia, they do nothing for the people in Bensalem. There are all kinds of people with take home vehicles that hold rank doing jobs within the police department that could be done by civilian personnel at a much reduced rate. At the same time, these officers could be assigned to the streets and neighborhoods to protect our community.
We watched Councilman Kisselback speak about how little of our tax money goes towards the township. He forgets that home and business owners have to pay school taxes too! He was one of those on council many years ago that promoted the casino by telling us we would be getting a school tax reduction because half the casino money would be going to the school district. When the casino bill passed, they decided to keep all the money themselves.
They did try to buy votes, which apparently worked by giving each homeowner $300.00 to fix up there properties. A few years ago, they took back $200.00. So, if you are a Bensalem homeowner who pays (as Councilman Kisselback said) approximately $800.00 in local taxes, that would be a 25% increase in your local taxes!
Instead of building up our reserve fund and increasing its value which would produce greater interest on the investments, they have been continually drawing it down to cover an enormous budget! Suddenly, they needed an assistant in the road department to assist the Public Works Director who is often absent to run his business. Lucky for us tax payers a member of the Mayor’s staff had a relative with no experience in the public works field who needed a government job. It turns out, the Public Works Director had a relative who needed a government job too. His relative is now an assistant in License and Inspection.
The Mayor who in a previous press release said he didn’t need a township vehicle, has had 6 new vehicles costing more than $40,000.00 each! How much traveling does the Mayor of Bensalem do? We mean for Bensalem.
The facts are simple, everything they have promised us regarding budgeting has been proven false.
1. We needed to spend $5,000,000.00 to upgrade a state intersection at Galloway and Mechanicsville. Council said we would be reimbursed by the state. The state was contacted, and that never happened.
2. Half the casino money would go to the school district to keep school taxes down. That never happened.
3. They built a $5,300,000.00 fire training center that the firefighters can’t simulate fires in when County and State officials told them it did not meet standards. The Director of Public Safety had the nerve to tell the media it is the most state of the art training facility in the state! It is, if state of the art in wasting taxpayer money is what he was trying to achieve. There is a County emergency services training facility less than 5 minutes outside the township that provides certified state of the art training including actual class A and B fires at no cost to the township. When asked about who is covering the liability insurance for uncertified personnel teaching at the township training center, the Public Safety Director said don’t worry about it. He has no charge parking at the Federal Court building so go ahead and sue!
4. Our crime rate is higher than Middletown, Hulmeville, Penndel, Langhorne and Langhorne Manor combined! So, please tell us Public Safety Director how throwing good money after bad will reduce our crime rate? Other than you continually scaring the public, what steps are you taking to improve our community. We are not including the DNA testing that you set up for the township with your new “special friend”.
5. Members of the Mayor’s staff have told several of us that it is common for the Mayor to move money around from budget item to budget item. When asked why, we were told to cover expenses. When several of the councilmen (all white males we might add) were asked about why they permit this (as they were intended to be the over sight body of our government) they told us, this was turned over to the Mayor by the Council years ago! So, what is their job then? Who is going back to see what was in the budget that was never purchased and paid for? Why would it be in the budget if it was not needed? It makes no sense to have line items in the budget which the people can review to make sure our tax dollars are being properly used, only to find out they can move money around and buy what they want?! It makes no sense!
6. The Mayor and the Public Safety Director ordered the fire chiefs and presidents of the 6 volunteer fire companies to attend a meeting at the township building. They refused to tell them what the meeting was about. When they got there, the Mayor and the Public Safety Director told them they were taking money away from each fire company to pay for the paid fire company, even though, the SAFER grant submitted by the township specifically stated that they would not reduce funding for the volunteer fire companies to pay for the paid fire company. They also created the paid fire company as a separate organization, directly contradicting what they had written in the grant application. They also went out and bought two pieces of fire apparatus worth more than $500,000.00 which we didn’t need if they had followed through with the plan they submitted to the Federal Government. Instead, they created yet more government jobs for politically connected friends. Many of these paid fire personnel are employed in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act which the Mayor and the Director of Public Safety were made aware of. They laughed because they know the leaders of the fire companies are too afraid to raise the issue after seeing what they did to the Union Fire Company. It is interesting to note, that the very (and unproven) safety issues the Director of Public Safety alleged were being made by the volunteer fire company occur daily by the Monday through Friday paid Fire Company.
7. What about the $11,000,000.00 we get each year from the casino in addition to the property taxes the casino pays? Where is all that money going? At the time the township received the first casino funds the township budget was approximately $40,000,000.00. That $11,000,000.00 was an approximately a 27.5% increase to the township! Where did the money go?
Why would we as taxpayers entrust the Mayor and a Council (that has admitted they do not know what he is spending our money on) 1% of our wages when they already mismanage the money they have been entrusted with?
When will the sheeple of this township wake up to what is happening? What happens when the reserve fund runs out? How much worse would the hole they are digging be without the money from the casino? Not to mention that the casino is  and tired of the township and the emergency services crying to them for more money!
Read the quotes in the paper from the sickMayor, Public Safety Director and Council members about the casino and the effect on the township before the law was passed. Read what the (yes, despite it being more than a decade and a half many of them are still in office) elected officials and their appointees said about the impact and the benefits to our community. Now look at the reality! Does anyone still think they know what they are doing?!!! After last night’s dog and pony show no one could actually still believe them?!!!
A sense of never ending dread and fear is now occurring among the population of our township. He used this to justify their actions last night. What will they use next??

Well let’s sum this up. We have a Mayor, who gets up in front of everyone, and proceeds to berate, blather, pontificate and sound off on everyone being there over this new tax he wants to implement, and expects us to accept it? He then boasts about this town being among the “100 best places to live” when that is a JOKE. Excuse me Mr. Mayor, but what about having an intersection in this town that is considered one of if not the WORST intersections in America!! This town is also known for PARX Casino, which is an addictive eyesore, a mayor and council that spends $$$ like a drunk sailor, and a police department public safety director that does the same thing, plus we have upper echelon police officials, as well as fire officials, who have committed questionable if not illegal acts, and they are not held accountable for it! If they are, they are given very light sentences, and are STILL allowed to keep their jobs, or if they are ‘asked to leave”, they get to keep their pensions!! As for the ‘exclusion’ of those working in Philly, I don’t buy it!
Even worse, is how Fred ‘Sherriff Lobo’ Harran, went on and LIED about how the BTPD is prepared for serious and sever catastrophic events like what happened in San Bernardino, when this police force has NO genuine, valid emergency management plan! He goes on and on, about protecting property and life, and serving the public trust, when they FAIL to do so, by discriminating against minorities, abusing the badges/positions they are given, and more so! Even more disgusting, is how Lobo brings out and replays sensitive graphic police radio calls and pictures of graphic crime scenes that are still considered active evidence in different cases. If not illegal and unethical, the act of showing and paying them is very distasteful and TACKY!!
In short all this is, is another attempt to grab out hard earned money from our pockets, which has succeeded. All I can say for the sheeple who allowed this to take place, is you ask for it and you got it! Most of all: I can say to his majesty, and those cowards who voted this EIT into existence, is that we WILL remember this come next year, and we will make sure that you don’t get away with it. In short…..

ATTENTION BENSALEM RESIDENTS!!!

It is time to grow a spine and speak out against the irresponsible and incompetent actions of our mayor, and those who are allowing this 'earned income tax' tax on the residents of this town. People this scheme (Yes scheme!) is NOT the solution to the budget issues facing this town, but proper and responsible handling of this township’s budget and resources is. Ask the mayor and council specifically where the over $11 million from PARX has been... going, and why they went back on their word to give this to the school, and to provide the much needed property tax relief they promised. DON’T take ANY double talk, rudeness, or stall tactics from the mayor or his puppet council, and especially don’t allow Joe Pizzo, to intimidate you. Let me explain this in a way that you will understand. Let’s say for example that you make $24,000/yr. That would be $2,000 a month correct? Well, 1% of $2,000/mo. is $20. Multiply that by 12 and it’s $240/yr. Picture this for whatever ANY wage earner makes in a given year, no matter if they own a home or not, and this is a disaster! It’s bad enough that those that work and/or live in Philly are taxed for working there, but to double that with this scheme is despicable!
I am encouraging and URGING all the concerned residents of this town, to go to this upcoming council meeting on Monday December 7th, and demand that the members of council vote AGAINST this tax scheme. Demand that they reject this new tax, and balance the township’s budge in a proper, honorable, and LEGAL fashion. Also, ask them why it’s so ‘necessary’ to have a police force that is too large for this town, and yet they don’t respond adequately to crime when called, if at all. Most of all, ask them why the upper echelon of our police department are being allowed to get away with illegal activity, and not be held accountable for their criminal actions.

One of these men is not only unqualified to be a fire fighter (Never tested!), and this same unqualified fire fighter, IS A CONVICTED CRIMINAL WITH A CRIMINAL RECORD!! Guess which on this is?? Better yet, I’ll give you a hint. It’s the name listed on the jacket to the left in this picture. Now that you all know…………

Evidently, those in power within this town are rather perturbed by my post about exposing their illegal activities regarding the Bensalem Rescue Squad doing DUI blood draws last year, so they got one of their ‘little friends’ to start this petition on change.org, to make this OK. Who are you kidding Lobo?? Most of all, HOW DARE YOU USE THE NAME OF OFFICER GREGG AS A MEANS FOR PROFIIT!! Yes, for profit!! You see, all this truly is, is that this is strictly a money maker for the rescue squad and to help lazy cops! Good Grief!! If Lobo and crew were really interested in improving the safety of officers, they would establish a DUI processing area in Bucks County staffed by a lab tech from the Crime Lab certified to draw blood. It would reduce the amount of time it takes for the blood to get from the police departments to the crime lab for processing, reduce the number of witnesses needed for court and provide a safe and secure place to have the blood drawn.
Instead of doing things the right way, Lobo wants to do things ‘his way’, which is the ILLEGAL WAY. This is something we cannot allow, and must make sure that Governor Wolf sees through this so called petition. I not only recommend that this petition not only not be signed, but that it be taken down, and that the over one year’s worth of DUI arrests with illegally obtained blood samples, be investigated and that Lobo, and anyone else involved be prosecuted for this!

BTPD GET CAUGHT 'NEEDLING' THE PUBLIC

MORNING RHNI2B GANG!! This morning has been both interesting and fruitful, especially with this little goodie. This AM, hubby walked in the door, having found this on our doorstep, and seeing it had my name on it, handed it to me. As we read this together, our mouths were agape with shock! Most of all we were disgusted by this, and I felt it very important to share with all of you.

 
Members of our group told us that the rescue squad and the police department were doing something illegal several months ago. We didn't believe it. Now we know it is true. Bensalem Rescue Squad entered into an agreement with the Bensalem Police Department to draw blood for DUI arrests. The members of the rescue squad had to wear coats over their patches to cover their identity claiming to be lab technicians!
Paramedics and emergency medical technicians are not permitted to draw blood for criminal investigations! Not only did they draw blood, they added a charge for the service for the restitution portion of the arrest. In other words, they had the District Attorney's office collecting fees for an illegal service! Worse yet, they lied to the District Attorney's office saying they were authorized to draw blood for criminal investigations!
Once the state found out about this, they ordered Bensalem Rescue Squad to immediately cease the practice!
Considering that the evidence was illegally obtained, how many criminal cases must be reviewed and charged dropped? What about those convicted with the illegal evidence? Will their guilty verdicts be overturned? I wonder if any defense attorneys here in Bucks county, especially any in Bensalem, are aware of this act? Does the rescue squad have to return the fees they collected for the illegal blood draws?
Will anyone from the police department or rescue squad be prosecuted? Or will this be covered up like most of the illegal activity in Bensalem? 
 

ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE!! Members of Bensalem’s Rescue Squad, the highly esteemed members of our first responders performing something that they have neither the authority nor the qualifications for!! Several questions spring to my mind, including , Where did this idea originate from?? Who came up with this?? Were ANY of these either doctored/altered to favor the BTPD?? Most of all, as these concerned individuals who sent this to me state, do ANY of the attorneys in this area now about this?? I would highly suggest that this piece of information gets out to EVERY defense attorney in this county, so that their clients can get the true justice they deserve!!

222'S BEEN NAUGHTY!!

I learned from a concerned citizen of this township (via note on my hubby's car), that about an hour ago, our ever so wonderful paid fire service, supposedly got themselves in an accident! According to the information given, they were at Salem Harbor Apartments on a call, when Engine 222, (Which I saw parading out for all to see earlier this AM.), allegedly backed into a fence belonging to this apartment complex!!
Given the FACT that this paid fire service was started illegally, and that it is currently violating the Fair Labor Standards Act, (CFR 29 553. 100-106 in particular 103A), I would strongly suggest that people start looking into their activities, as well as that of those connected with 222. I would also start asking just where EVERY penny of our tax dollars are going to, as well as the $11 million dollars this township has been getting from PARX.
BTW.... the two visitors a certain 'connected' former BTPD official had sent to my door to intimidate me with false accusations, FAILED. I will NOT stop letting the truth be known, and I will not be intimidated, or slandered into doing otherwise.
I WILL NOT BOW DOWN!!

AS I READ IT, I REALIZED THAT HIS MAJESTY’S NEW TAX PLAN IS NOT SETTING WELL WITH THE RESIDENTS OF THIS TOWN, AND THE RESPONSE FROM THE TOWNSHIPS HONORABLE FIRST RESPONDERS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. READ BELOW AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK:
 
Our emergency services group met to discuss the upcoming 1...% wage tax and as a group we are amazed at how many people are missing the big picture. Where in the hell is the $11,000,000.00 dollars we get each year from Parx casino going?!!! The Mayor promised us if we supported the casino program the emergency services would gain financial support from the township. In fact, they took money from the fire companies! When the issue was forced and the SAFER grant was shown to the politicians they returned the money. In the grant application, the township said they would not use any funding from the volunteer fire companies to support the paid personnel. If we had a responsible and financial intelligent local government, they would have been taking money from the $11,000,000.00 and building up the reserve fund for the township. Instead they have REDUCED the reserve fund from $72,000,000.00 at the start of the casino program down to under $50,000,000.00 all the while increasing the size of the local government!
The Mayor and the council said that half the money received from Parx Casino was supposed to go to the school district to keep school taxes down. That never happened either! What has happened is those in power are spending the money like water with no vision or plan for the future.
It’s only a 1% tax! Really, only?! They said that about the increase in tax funding for the rescue squad. They get over $1,000,000.00 from the township and STILL only provide 2, 24 hour ALS units to the township. Bristol Township has 2, 24 hour ALS units for less than ½ that amount!
When the township spent more than $5,000,000.00 to improve the intersection of Galloway and Mechanicsville (so the Mayor would not have to wait to turn left) the Council said the state would give the money back to the township because they were state roadways. That has never happened.
No one has bothered to ask the real question….WHERE IS THE MONEY going Mr. MAYOR?

While I was out volunteering today, I overheard a Bensalem resident speak with both disgust and anger over something that I confirmed is taking place as of next year. As usual, they posted a notice of this in the BCCT, (You know in the classifieds!!) and it's someting I have been saying will happen. However, all you naysayers have been mocking me over it, and now I have been proven right. What is it, you ask?? Why it's a tax increase!! According to what I've learne...d this tax increase is going to be on EARNED income, and the people I learned this from, are beyond unhappy!! While they say that no one who works in Philly will be affected, I have heard it alleged to be otherwise, and those who have stated this, ate the ones who work in Philly!! This is nothing more than irresponsible governance, from individuals who've been spending money like a drunk sailor on leave, and it's time that someone speaks out on this. This isn't a 'tiny' increase people, but a substanial one and it affects EVERYONE who works for a living!! This means tha every person who works and earns a living, will now have to pay an Earned income Tax to the township of Bensalem!!
I would strongly advise EVERY commcerned citizen of Bensalem to come out to the next council meeting on December 7th, at 7PM, and speak out aganst this. Otherwise, the next thing you'll be seeing and hearing me say is.......

I found it rather telling, to see how Sherriff Lobo felt it necessary to state that the Mr. McMichaels was a volunteer firefighter with Cornwells Fire Company. Could it be that Lobo has now put this fire company in the same category as union Fire Company once was?? Could it be, that the high ranking officials of Cornwells, took a stand concerning its former chief and their relatives after they disgraced themselves with their criminal actions?? I especially noticed, that this former fire chief who was accused of allegedly pulling and Anthony Weiner, is now a member of 222. I guess it truly DOES pay to be connected!!
If I were this fire department, I would be very much on guard, where Lobo is concerned, because I suspect that he's about to do to you, what he unsuccessfully tried to do with Union. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that this little bit of info given to 6ABC, is just a small step in his plan to do away with you . 3. Those who are Left Behind, will face SEVEN years of the worst horrors imaginable, but God will use it to bring those left behind to faith in Him. Many will pay with their lives, but God will still win.

WE need to very carefully examine all claims of Christ's coming, especially when they try to put an exact date and time on it. Most of all, we need to continue to share Christ with a dying and lost world without these false prophets getting in the way.
