Who is this man, you ask??
Joe Knowles is a real estate broker who works for Joanne Redding’s Re/Max real
estate office. Knowles has never been particularly involved in the
community, but Redding is on the township zoning board, and the two together
could get very rich brokering the proposed land development on the riverfront
and the Mayor would get everything he wants without any opposition or
reasonable scrutiny. So hence, “His
Majesty” has him on council, because he’ll go along with ANYTHING and
EVERYTHING “His Majesty” wants. One of these areas in which he does this, is he
claims the township is business friendly, and even continued the boast of how
the township has not raised taxes in 16 years. Problem with this is that for
the past 3 years we’ve had very costly deficits due to overspending that are “balanced”
by dipping into the Township’s Reserve Fund, which is not the answer. Another
issue is the increased sewage, garbage, and water bills that EVERY homeowner in
Bensalem has had to put up with since it was sold to Aqua, and others have to
deal with the outrageous costs associated with dealing with other companies.
Ever since being
elected to council, Knowles will look over at the Mayor at council meetings to
see which way he should go on each and every issue. He has conveniently voted for
and against things, for the sake of having himself re-elected, NOT to help his constituents.
He has conveniently been a “no-show” on key issues such as the incident that
took place in Linconia in 2011, and the multiple acts of harassment against
Union Fire Company, and its former chiefs. Up until last year he condoned the attempts
to permanently shut down this fire house, and until his own brother John got to
the bottom of the matter, would have still gone along with the mayor in closing
this place down. His constant excuse to the firefighters when they wanted
answers on this was just like the others, “They never tell us anything.” Only
now has he shown any backbone in this area, but unfortunately the damage has
been done.
We need more than
just change in our local government. We need a restoration of honor and
integrity that will protect the neighborhoods and homes of Bensalem residents
from the onslaught of greedy developers, and corrupt individuals who abuse their
authority. We need someone who will defend our code of township
ordinances rather than ignoring it. It’s time to vote for honorable individuals
who will NOT be "yes people", for the mayor, but act in the best
interest of this town.
Vote out the “puppet”
and put a REAL person in Bensalem Council!!!
