3. Ask yourself, how the paid fire department was REALLY started, why it's so necessary to take money away from the volunteer firefighters to start it, and how the township is going to pay for this new full time Fire dept.?

4. Ask yourself, just what REALLY went on with Union Fire Co., and what if they did this to YOUR Fire Company?? Most of all, ask just where the council members such as Ed Kisselback, Joe Knowles, and John Matthieu, were when all this transpired.
If you want the same corrupt, evil, above the law government, then vote all Republican. However, if you truly want HONEST government with INTEGRITY, then........

This was given to me by a concerned citizen of this town, who has firefighters/first responders for neighbors, and are fed up with the lies they are being told. Don't know who the person was, but they handed this to me at church this AM, and after reading this I had to share.

We as a group of Bensalem firefighters opened our political mail today and read the letter from our Mayor. He wants us to support his "team". In the letter, he claims many wonderful things that he and his "team" have done. As members of the fire service in Bensalem and supposed to be members of his "team" we would like to address a few of these wonderful things and add a few of our own.

1. The state of the art fire training center. It is anything but a state of the art training center. If the members of the Mayor's "team" continue to tell him it is state of the art, they are making him look like a fool. The new training center built for the fire service in Bristol Township IS a state of the art training center. This facility was built at no cost to Bensalem. Yet, the members of the Mayor's "team" insisted that they had to have their own. At a cost of over $5,000,000.00 and very limited capabilities, it was only built to satisfy a member of the Mayor's "team" that not part of the County fire training center committee. Anyone that wants to know the truth just needs to go to both facilities and compare. We would love for someone on the Mayor's "team" to explain this mess. No classroom, no bathrooms and no fire suppression training capabilities! Is anyone on the "team" going to be held accountable for this mess? We were told by representatives of the township Fire Marshal's office NOT TO ATTEND the dedication of the new fire training center in Bristol! Why? If we don't see it, you won't have to answer any questions! Well, we are going. Then, we will be coming to the "team" to get answers.

2. Taxes. School taxes continue to rise. Water and sewer (which use to be included in our tax bill) continue to rise. When we spoke with employees of Aqua Water they explained that our water system was not properly maintained resulting in extensive repair and improvement work. Didn't members of the "team" run our water and sewer department?

3. Reduced funding for the fire service. With no plan, no explanation and repeated violations of township ordinances, a paid fire service was established. The "team" never told the fire service that money was going to be taken from the volunteer fire companies that are STILL required to provide the same services that they did prior to the paid fire department (an independent fire department not part of the volunteer system in the township) coming into existence. The councilmen that are part of the "team" stated that they did not know they township would reduce the funding for the volunteer fire companies. They also did not know that the township would disregard township ordinances to create the paid fire service. The councilmen who are part of the "team" have no idea how they are going to pay for the new fire company! Don't believe us? Ask them for the funding plan for the paid fire company when and if they have another council meeting!

4. The township is facing yet another deficit this year. The members of the "team" told the public that they would tell the public about the deficit when they felt the public needed to know!

5. We have read and re-read the "Fire Service Assessment for Bensalem Township". Are you kidding? They paid for this?! It is obvious, the only thing the survey reports is that they wanted to take away our funding! It also stated that there was no flooding problem along State Road! Maybe there is another Bensalem that they did the study for.



We have been lied to by members of the "team". Several of the councilmen that are running for election have told the fire service in Bensalem repeatedly that they are not told about things to do with the fire service, budget and actions taken by the Director of Public Safety! Well, what do they tell you and more importantly, why haven't you been asking? Mr. Mayor, we are aware that you spoke to county officials about the training center built in Bristol BEFORE you built the one on Street Road. Your "team" lied to you and cost the township and the fire service millions of dollars. Dollars that could have been spent supporting the volunteer and paid fire service in Bensalem!

We have learned that ALL the allegations made against the Union Fire Company and its former Chief are false! This was admitted to by the Director of Public Safety! The Director of Public Safety told members of the community that he was willing to write a letter clearing the Union Fire Company and its former Chief if it didn't make the township look bad. There has been no letter as of yet. I guess there is no way of clearing the fire company and its former chief without the township looking bad! Will the councilmen who are running for office publicly state that they will look into this matter? Has anyone from the council looked at the SAFER grant? There is a lot of questions. I guess the "team" is handling this the way they handle everything else…THEY DON'T TELL US ANYTHING! Councilmen, who are "they" that keep vital information from you?

Can you believe that Bensalem has a $3.2 million dollar budget for healthcare ($17,393 per person!!), and not one township employee including our first responders, contributes a penny towards this!!! I seem to remember Kisselback saying something about his during the budget meeting last year, where we all learned of a $6.5 million dollar DEFICIT!! What was their solution???? Dip into the township's trust fund, and "lay off" make that FIRE six township employees. Now we face an even bigger deficit, all because our township officials don't know how, or REFUSE to control their spending habits. Well, the reason for this, is that the people running this town, have been spending $$$ like there is no tomorrow, and its catching up to them. Just last year, the township had a $6.5 million dollar deficit, but they "solved" it, by laying off SIX people ( I know this to be true, because I spoke with one of them.), and dipping into their trust fund. Now there is another potential shortfall this year, but they REFUSE to talk about it! Don't believe me?? Wait until December, after the elections, and you'll see!!

I went to the Township building after reading in your blog that someone else went there to review the emergency management plan for the township. I discovered the following:

There is no copy of the plan available to people who have businesses in the township. There is no evacuation plan for people who live in the township. There are no agreements available for businesses to sign with the township that would help my business survive a disaster. There is no long term recovery plan for the township in the event of a disaster. There is no plan for the needs of citizens that survive a disaster like food, medication and supplies. There is no plan for dealing with special needs citizens during an emergency.

I read in the blog that Bensalem Township is supposed to let members of the community see the township emergency management plan so that they know what to do. I checked on line with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and found out that it is true that they have to have the emergency management plan for the township available for the public at the township building.I went to the township building to review the plan, because as a business owner I wanted to see what was in the plan to protect my business and my employees.

When I asked to see this, the lady at the front desk said she had no idea what I was talking about. I told the lady I wanted to speak with someone from the Mayor's office regarding this matter, and she told me that I would have to make an appointment as the Mayor is very busy.

Too busy? Doing what? You would think that my township would be complying with the law!

AS A MATTER OF FACT, COUNCIL MEMBERS KNOWLES, AND KISSELBACK WERE COMPLETELY ABSENT DURING THE GATHERING AT PEN RYN MANSION, AS WELL AS THE VERY MEETING THAT UNION FIRE CO. CALLED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. I have told you before, that I have a copy of the township's budget, and its got LOTS of waste in it, especially in the public safety department. How about all those take home cars for example?? What line item did they "adjust" to get those new SUV's for the paid fire department?? A WARNING TO ALL POLITICIANS

December 1, 1955.....Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus, which officially marked the beginning of a civil rights movement, that brought segregation into the nation's spotlight. Today, we feel segregation between the wealthy and the poor! Today's chapter that is being written has been brought about by the segregation between the most educated and those who barely make it by in school, whom are turned down for school loans! Some are even forced to choose between going to school OR working 40+ hours a week to help feed themselves and their immediate families!

A lot of this segregation was introduced into our society by the wealthy, educated politicians currently in office. When the economy took a nose dive in 2008, many U.S. Citizens leaned more towards the lottery system for a chance to win it BIG! These politicians, currently in office, took advantage of this "influx" in lottery purchases and started taking from the percentage, set aside for education, and started using for other means! The result: Less money for education which in turn provided more security for the politicians currently serving today! Now they don't feel threatened because you need a required "education" level to hold certain political offices!

EVERY U.S. CITIZEN, at least 18 years of age that has NOT been convicted of a felony, has the power to vote! PLEASE do your research this year on each person running for an office! CHECK THEIR STATS!!!

"WE THE PEOPLE" need to start making a positive difference! BECAUSE it's obvious our "LEADERS" are NOT making a positive difference!!!

Like any of the other fire departments would allow that!! Why is he doing this, you ask??? Its so he can have COMPLETE control over all the fire companies, and turn them into one HUGE "Paid Fire Department", in other words, he wants TO make this town into Joey D's dream town.... ANOTHER PHILADELPHIA!!

Our Little Narcissist

I recently learned the Following from a local psychologist familiar with Bensalem politics:

This person said to me off the record that a likely diagnosis of the mayor's peculiar behavior is "Narcissistic Personality Disorder." This explains his huge ego, his grandiose plans, his need to have his face and name in the public eye constantly, his being a control freak, his cheating on his wife with one woman after another, his vicious attacks on other people, his morning cocktails at La Cena, and his belief that Bensalem Township cannot possibly get along without him. Talk about being diluted!!
I also learned through this, that just before each council meeting, Joey D, and the members of council, get together at LaCena for dinner and a lot more. Evidently, they are seen there talking quite a bit before going to the televised council meetings, which raises a great deal of concern to this writer. Is it possible that they are discussing the very issues that are going to be discussed during that very council meeting, and making decisions during this?? IF this is the case, then the mayor and council are in SERIOUS violation of the Sunshine Law.

This is something I had to say, concerning this, because I can no longer turn a blind eye to the blatant idiocy of spoiled brats, who think the world owes them!! I am unemployed, while my spouse is a Professionally Ranked Tennis Instructor, making $11.50/hr! We pay our taxes, pay ALL our bills, drive a 2007 Chevy Colbalt, have NO health insurance, and rent a SMALL apartment for $675/month. We earn EVERYTHING we have, and despite the obstacles, we don't complain and whine like those spoiled brats out on the streets of Philly and Wall Street are. WE ARE THE 53%!!!!!

Ever wonder where the mayor's, "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil" puppets were when Union Fire Company was being unjustly singled out for unwarranted discipline?? Answer: NOWHERE!! Ever wonder what they plan on doing about the incident that took place in the Linconia section on July 5^th? You know, the one involving a police officer with a severe racial attitude?? Answer NOTHING!! You see, during all of what was taking place with Union Fire Co., not one word was spoken in response to this by ANY of these individuals, especially Kisselback and Knowles. While a fire company's reputation was being trashed, these two men were nowhere to be found!!!worst of all, when a neighborhood is being treated unfairly, and in a discriminatory fashion, not one person said a thing!! However, when it suits their purposes, Kisselback and Knowles will speak out against something like the upcoming property developments in Linconia earlier this summer, so they will keep their cushy positions. Kisselback himself has started becoming even more verbal as of late with the incident that took place in the Linconia section, when he "volunteered" information about an FBI investigation, when there was none planned!! He has even gone so far as to say to the other fire departments, "We would never do anything to hurt you." while refusing to answer or say anything in response to what occurred with Union Fire Co.! In the meantime, where is Mathieu in all of this?? Being the mayor's "chosen one", Matthieu has also said nothing in response to anything concerning Union Fire Co., or Linconia, because his puppet-master, the mayor would not approve. As a matter of fact, ever since he took Szafran's place on council, he has yet to speak his mind on anything. In other words, he has yet to say one original thought concerning anything!! This is no surprise, since he has said that he wants to continue the mayor's programs. You know, ready, aim……. SPEND!!

It has already been shown, that none of these men can give any type of answer, let alone an honest one, about important issues, such as last year's budget deficit, the fire training center, and much more. That's disgraceful enough. However, with someone like Matthieu in the picture, it makes Joey D's dreams of permanent emperorship all the more a reality, and will put the township in even greater jeopardy of bankruptcy, if they continue to dip into the "trust fund". Now I learn according to the Patch, that the renovations to the police department, are over $6 million, when it was supposed to be only $5 million!! It's time for genuine honesty, and integrity in our town and it starts by putting these three out of action.

VOTE DEMOCRAT THIS NOVEMBER, AND RESTORE HONOR AND INTEGRITY TO BENSALEM!!

1. You say that this is covered with grants and bonds, but what if the grants fall through?? As for the bonds, considering how much the township has been spending lately, how are you going to pay the people who have sold you these bonds back??
2. Wasn't the cost of this whole project supposed to be ONLY $5 million???

The Democratic literature that the Bucks County Democrats displayed, had NOTHING stating that they were paid for by tax payer dollars. 3. I also noticed you purchased another fire vehicle that comes with vehicle extrication tools, worth over $80,000!!! What line item on the budget are you dipping into to purchase this??

I hope all of the fire companies will be able to get this, considering that Haman has attempted to interfere with the boat grant that Union Fire Co. obtained... ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS!! I have also learned, that he has not only purchased SUV's with extrication equipment, worth over $80,000 each, but as of today, he plans on (If he hasn't already) purchasing ANOTHER fire truck!! I hear that these things are worth in the seven figure range!! What's wrong with the one's you already have now, Haman?? Oh yeah, I remember. Your paid fire company has been trashing them!!! Just so everyone knows, the problem that Haman has with this, is that this particular grant funding is for volunteer fire companies ONLY, so he can't access this. This is rather frustrating for him, because its another thing about them (the volunteer fire companies) he cannot control, so he goes about trying to sabotage the grants, of fire companies like Union, because they think "outside the box", manage their funds properly, and don't go along with his evil.

Some Legitimate Questions From a Concerned Citizen

Hope no one minds, but I have the right to ask the following LEGITIMATE Questions, and I expect answers NOT Personal Attacks!

When does "buying votes" with a $300.00 check outweigh the needs of the emergency services in Bensalem? We receive $11,000,000.00 from the casino every year, which should more than cover the cost for these badly needed items, yet the Mayor and Council would rather buy votes with a yearly $300.00 check to the homeowners! The $4,700,000.00 each year spent to buy votes could be used to properly outfit the emergency services. It could also have eliminated the need to layoff the township fire marshal, domestic violence program coordinator and the other four township employees!

Is the $300.00 which is less than $6.00 a week more important than having a highly trained, professional fire marshal?

Is the $300.00 which is less than $6.00 a week more important than having a highly trained, dedicated domestic violence program coordinator?

Is the $300.00 which is less than $6.00 a week more important than tax relief to senior citizens for the ever increasing school taxes?

Is the $300.00 which is less than $6.00 a week more important than properly funding the volunteer fire companies?

Everyone seems to be taking a hit with the current government administration, except the current government administration. We don't see the Mayor or Director of Public Safety downsizing their township vehicle/personal and family use vehicles.

Have a majority of the taxpayers have been fooled at a cost of $300.00? The purpose of the casino money was to offset costs of operating the township government that are affected by hosting the casino, not for buying votes! Are we really able to buy a taxpayer for $300.00 a year?

By the way, the township deficit is back! The deficit is bigger than last year and being hidden by the Mayor. Wait until after the election for the announcement.

Those who are not afraid to look behind the curtain should look! The little man controlling the "Great Oz" is hiding many things!

The disaster of a township training center is a "right in your face" example. Drive to River Rd in Bristol to see a real fire training center. This is available to our firefighters at NO COST for construction, maintenance, insurance and replacement!
