As some of you may or
may not know, there is a standard by which both the volunteer and the paid fire
companies within Bensalem are to meet, and this is a nationwide requirement. It
states that the response time for NFPA (that's National Fire Protection
Association) standard 1710 (paid fire
company) is the first fire
suppression capable apparatus with proper staffing to
affect fire suppression on scene within 5 minutes 90% of the time.
Now, the response time
for NFPA standard 1720 (volunteer and
combination fire company) is the first
fire suppression capable apparatus with proper staffing to
affect fire suppression on scene within 5 minutes 80% of the time.
The reason for my stating
this, naysayers?? Well, on July 11, 2012, the very day Haman unlawfully shut
down Union Fire Co., Union Fire Company box 37-1 was dispatched.
Well guess what?? Engine 222 arrived in 9
minutes! Almost twice the amount of time!!
Now I know that here are those of you who continue to drink the
Joey D Punch and inhale the "Little Dictator" cologne fumes, who state otherwise,
but here are some facts to prove I'm correct. First, the 37-1 box times are correct. Engine
222 did arrive within 5 minutes and clear within 9. However, what they (Haman
and his bunch.) failed to report was that there were only 2
firefighters on Engine 222!! That is NOT the
required amount. The clock does not stop
running UNTIL there are firefighters on a fire suppression vehicle that can
initiate fire suppression! Two does not cut it!! So, in short, Haman's
precious Career Fire Department FAILED to follow NFPA 1710 completely! I further learned that during Union's
closure, the nearest fire company (Cornwells Fire Company)FAILED to respond to
calls in Union's area, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS!!!
Director Harran stated
his closing would not affect public safety. It has. He lied.
TIME FOR HIM TO GO!
