FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER: Day 15 - October 12, 2012
Day 15
Target: Illegal Immigration
Lamentations 5:1-2
Remember, O LORD, what has come upon us; Look, and behold our reproach!
Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, And our houses to
foreigners.
Founding Father Quote:
"No country upon
earth ever had it more in its power to attain blessings than United
America. Much to be regretted would it be were we to neglect the means
to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly. I
cannot believe it will ever come to pass."
-George Washington
Prayer:
Father God, we have become complacent and neglected to protect our
precious "American way of life." Our Founding Fathers used direct
quotes from the Bible in 34% of the Declaration of Independence, the
Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The cornerstones of our very
existence as a nation are based upon Biblical principles. These
formidable documents were intended to encourage Americans to live their
lives according to Your Word or forfeit our blessings to the enemy.
Forgive us for allowing unrighteousness to infiltrate our society and to
threaten our very existence. We have not been good stewards of our
borders. Help us to secure our national borders and enforce the
immigration laws currently in place. May those wishing to become a part
of our United States choose to enter legally, and may they bring with
them a deep respect for our Judeo-Christian values. In Jesus' holy
name, Amen.
LORD:
HELP US AS TO HONOR ALL OF ITS
CITIZENS NO MATTER WHERE THEY COME FROM. GUIDE US WITH YOUR WISDOM AS TO
HOW WE RESPOND TO PEOPLE OF ALL RACES, NATIONALITIES AND CREEDS, WHILE
STILL UPHOLDING THE LAWS YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED FOR US. FOR TOO LONG, WE
HAVE ALLOWED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS INTO OUR TOWN, AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ,
AND EXPLOITED THEM, ALLOWED THEM TO BREAK OUR LAWS, AND GET AWAY WITH
IT, AND SO MUCH MORE. FORGIVE US FOR OUR LAX ATTITUDE IN DEALING WITH
CRIMINALS NO MATTER WHERE THEY COME FROM, AND FOR OUR DISRESPECT OF
OTHERS CULTURES. GIVE US A HEART OF UNDERSTANDING, AND COMPASSION FOR
THESE NEW CITIZENS OF THIS TOWN, AND BE WILLING TO STAND FOR WHAT IS
RIGHT, EVEN WHEN OTHERS DO NOT.
IN YOUR NAME, AMEN.
