FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER: Day 22 - October 19, 2012
Day 22
Target: Consistency
Titus 1:7-9
…be blameless, as a steward of God, … hospitable, a lover of what is
good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the
faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound
doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
Founding Father Quote:
"The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take
consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them. . . .
Christians have been exceedingly guilty in this matter. But the time has
come when they must act differently. . . . Christians seem to act as if
they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you
He does see it, and He will bless or curse this nation according to the
course they [Christians] take [in politics]."
-Charles Finney
Prayer:
Lord, You are always just, merciful, loving and wise. Your Word says
that You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You are unchanging
and Your mercy is renewed for us each and every morning. Your love for
us never fails. But we have failed You, and ask for Your forgiveness.
We have not been steadfast in our choices, always making the extra
effort to stand for what is right and pure. May we live according to
the example You have sent in Your Word. May our light so shine before
men that all would see and know Your glory, that all would seek Your
salvation. We will no longer allow the mandates of society or busy
schedules to allow us to slip into a place of complacency. From this
day forth, we choose to vote according to the commands found in Your
Word. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ! Amen.
TO ANY FELLOW BELIEVER IN BENSALEM READING THIS:
THINK VERY HARD ABOUT WHAT i AM GOING TO SAY. I HAVE AND I AM SURE THAT
THE PASTORS OF YOUR CHURCH HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGING YOU TO VOTE BASED ON
BIBLICAL PRINCIPALS, AND I PRAY THAT YOU WILL. MY PRAYER IS THAT YOU
WILL DO THIS NOT JUST WITH THIS GENERAL ELECTION, BUT IN THE STATE,
COUNTY, AND LOCAL ELECTIONS THAT ARE TO COME. I URGE YOU TO VOTE NOT
JUST ON ONE ISSUE, BUT ON EVERY ISSUE THAT MATTERS TO YOU.
WHEN IT COMES TO THE UPCOMING LOCAL ELECTIONS, I SUGGEST THAT YOU ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING:
1.DO YOU WANT SOMEONE IN OFFICE WHO FAILS TO PROTECT AND SERVE ALL THE
RESIDENTS OF THIS TOWN? WHO DISCRIMINATES AGAINST OTHERS BECAUSE OF
THEIR NATIONALITY, OR THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN?
2. DO YOU WANT
INDIVIDUALS IN CHARGE WHO BROUGHT IN AN ADDICTIVE EYE SORE SUCH AS PARX
CASINO, GETTING OVER $11 MILLION A YEAR FROM IT, AND NOT KNOW
SPECIFICALLY WHAT ITS BEING USED FOR?
3. DO YOU WANT PEOPLE IN
LEADERSHIP, WHO HAVE ALLOWED A PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR TO DISRESPECT
WOMEN AND MINORITIES, COMMITS MULTIPLE ILLEGAL ACTS, INCLUDING
ESTABLISHING A PAID FIRE DEPARTMENT AGAINST TOWNSHIP ORDINANCES, COVERS
UP SUSPICIOUS DEATHS OF WOMEN WHO WERE DATING BENSALEM COPS, REFUSES TO
INVESTIGATE/ARREST INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE COMMITTED CRIMINAL ACTS, BECAUSE
THEY ARE TOWNSHIP EMPLOYEES WITH "STROKE" IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT, COMMITS
FRAUD ON A GOVERNMENT GRANT?
4. MOST OF ALL, ASK YOURSELF, DO
YOU WANT PEOPLE IN POWER WHO DESPITE ALL THE FUNDING FROM PARX, REAL
ESTATE AND PROPERTY TAXES THAT THE TOWNSHIP ACQUIRES, FAIL TO MANAGE
THESE FUNDS TO THE POINT WHERE WE ARE HAVING DEFICITS EVERY YEAR?
THESE ARE BIBLICAL PRINCIPALS YOU SHOULD BASE YOUR VOTES ON IN EVERY ELECTION.
