FORTY DAYS OF PRAYER: Day 7 - October 4, 2012

Target: Public Servants

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for our American form of government which allows the common citizen to rise to positions of influence. We ask Your forgiveness for not being good stewards over this great privilege. While righteousness exalts a nation, we have fallen into a spirit of complacency. We have taken so much for granted and allowed our public offices to become occupied by the ungodly. We have failed to speak out, to vote, to educate others on the Biblical principles surrounding Election Day. Forgive us, Father, for not actively seeking You regarding public affairs. Give our public servants the mind of Christ, that they might use their authority for good. We ask that our leaders seek Your plans for our country, our states, our cities. May we exalt You in our public hallways; may Your name constantly be on our lips. We praise You as the one true God, for Your mercy and Your faithfulness to us, an undeserving people. We ask for wisdom to saturate every man and woman in a place of authority, so that this nation can return to her first love, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. May we build a stronger America for the sake of our children, and our children's children. As we enter election season, may You begin to prepare men and women who have a heart to not only hear, but act upon the promises found in Your Word. May these anointed leaders be placed in offices You have designed for them, that we might rise up again as the world's strongest nation, one nation under God. In Jesus' name, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER:
FORGIVE THIS TOWN FOR HAVING A CORRUPT, NARCISSISTIC MAYOR, A PUPPET COUNCIL, AND AN EVIL PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR. FOR GIVE US FOR ALLOWING THESE PEOPLE TO RUN OUR TOWN INTO THE GROUND, WHILE THEY PROFIT OFF OF OTHERS MISERY, AND WOE. GIVE US THE COURAGE TO STAND UP TO TH SIN THEY HAVE BEEN COMMITTING AGAINST HONORABLE INDIVIDUALS WHO TAKE AGAINST THIS SIN, AND TRY TO DESTROY THEIR LIVES.
MAY WE NOT ONLY OPEN OUR EYES TO WHAT IS TAKING PLACE AROUND US, BUT ACT ON IT BY GETTING RID OF THE EVIL, AND REPLACING IT WITH YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. GIVE US THE COURAGE TO TAKE A STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT, EVEN WHEN OTHERS GO ASTRAY.
