MAKING A POINT, OR ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF POLITICIZING A TRAGEDY??

I don't normally talk about any TV shows I watch, but after last night, I had to not just share, but get your feedback as well.
I was wondering if anyone else on here watches the show Glee! on FOX?? I have been watching it from the first Season, and last night's episode was VERY unexpected to say the least. The episode dealt with an intense and scary event of a shooting taking place within the school, and the after effects of this occurring. While they did announce a warning at the beginning of the show (One I did not see.), I felt it was premature to have this on, given what occurred in December with Sandy Hook. I will say that they did handle the issue rather well, and the storyline was well thought out, and had an unexpected ending with a character I didn't think was capable of doing the right thing.
I am wondering what all of you thought of this, if you watch the show, and your opinions on the episode.

WHY SO SILENT??

I too have been wondering about this. In particular, why the mainstream press has been silent on this, especially the local press. Is it because of the graphic nature of this, or the political/moral aspect?? Personally, I think it's because of both, especially the fear of politicizing it. This should not be so, because it's about right and wrong pure and simple. I also suspect that the mainstream media is too liberally biased to even report this, let alone even mention it once.

It's time to Question the Silence - not only regarding the media black-out on the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, but to question why many state health departments don't inspect abortion clinics. Here's the excuse given by Pennsylvania, taken from the Grand Jury report http://1.usa.gov/10WR8de:

"The Pennsylvania Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all. The politics in question were not anti-abortion, but pro. . . officials concluded that inspections would be "putting a barrier up to women" seeking abortions. Better to leave clinics to do as they pleased, even though, as Gosnell proved, that meant both women and babies would pay."

CASANOVA COPS!!

As we start a new year, I had to share with all of you something I have been compiling a great deal of research over, and have waited until now to post. Now that I have enough documentation, I thought 2013 would be the perfect year to share this, you see, over the years I have been made aware of some rather interesting things concerning some of the Bensalem Police’s finest, and much of it made me ill. 

The first interesting thing I recently learned, is that two certain high ranking police officials have been known for being quite the “Casanova’s”, thinking they are God’s gift to EVERY woman in Bucks County. Of course, that is a subjective viewpoint.

 With the first one, while getting his career started in Bensalem as a DARE cop, he was known for being unfaithful to his first wife with several other women! One of these women was a resident of Creekside Apartments who lived at Building #6, Apt 68. Many a resident would verify this, as there were many domestic violence calls sent to the police for the apartment next door!! All the while he is there and NEVER answered the calls!! As second one involved a woman he was cheating on his first wife with, who was from the Bristol Township area. Evidently, the “other woman” got smart, and broke things up with him, because of not wanting to be involved with a married man, and his response was to stalk her! The end result was her filing a complaint with the local police, and there may ALLEGEDLY have been a warrant out for his arrest. However, despite the police detective’s best efforts, the warrant never materialized, because a former public safety director squelched it. A final instance, involved a woman in the adult entertainment industry, with whom he was cheating on a woman from the Bristol Township area. In this case, the cheated on woman, was the daughter of a high ranking police official in Bristol Township, and they were engaged!

Another high ranking police official in Bensalem, also has a thing for strippers, and would be seen at go go clubs in the area, especially at one now known as Scruples. Apparently his love of strippers caused an end to his marriage as well! I also learned that this same cop’s wife and another high ranking police officer were committing adultery, and that this same officer’s child allegedly walked in on this! IF this is true, I do not know what could be more scarring for this poor child. I would also have to say that this is without a doubt the most IRRESPONSIBLE and DISRESPECTFUL thing a parent can do to their child, and I only hope that the children when they become 18, can not only distance themselves from their sinful parents, but get away from that unhealthy environment, and heal.

WONDER WHAT THE PRESS WOULD THINK OF THIS????

Gotta just love "Volunteer" fireman! Hey just remember that if you have a fire on Sunday during football season, during Hockey playoffs, or on a holiday where there's barbeques, your home is toast!!!!!!
I was at a wedding several years ago of a friends son who was a volunteer fireman and actually asked a local fire chief who was also there with many of the local firefighters if they ever made "contingency" plans for when the men would be doing a lot of drinking and such? Part of my concern was that there was another fireman from the same company getting married that day also. The answer from this long time fire chief was "No" they never have done contingency planning!!!! I guess ya get what you pay for? I also watched several dozen volunteer firefighters at a local Fourth of July party a few years ago respond to an alarm at about 7 PM after having been drinking for hours?? They probably shouldn't have been driving yet alone fighting fires?
I have mentioned this to township officials, they must know it happens all the time but yet I've never seen any sort of regulation enacted? They did manage to make that one company give their boat back, but that's another story!

I was extremely curious as to the veracity of this statement, so I consulted with some volunteer fire fighters, who confirmed that this was nothing more than a statement from one of the paid guys. They said, it sounded like one of the paid guys was sounding off, so the volunteers had no other option, but to respond:

As members of the Volunteer Fire Service in Bensalem we found your comments interesting. In Bensalem, I guess you forgot about how the paid fire company works. Unless your house is on fire between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, you will NOT see the paid fire department. If God forbid, it does catch fire during those hours, it cannot be successfully fought WITHOUT the response of the volunteer firefighters! That's right, one piece of fire apparatus with a pump and when they all eventually get there (in their cars and one special service truck) there will still only be eight of them!

Many of the paid firefighters are also volunteer firefighters which is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (section CFR 29 553.100 through 553.106). That in itself is a whole other story!

We found your contingency plan statement rather odd. Whenever the volunteer fire companies in Bensalem have large events that prohibit their members from answering emergency calls, cover companies or a crew is assigned to the station. All the Bensalem volunteer fire companies prohibit their members from answering calls when they have consumed alcohol.

Something you need to remember Matthew. A fire, car crash, extrication, hazardous materials incident, disaster or other types of emergency cannot tell the difference between a career professional firefighter and a volunteer professional firefighter, they all take the same risks!

We hope that clears things up for you!

It’s not enough that they have no money for the paid fire company unless they take more from the volunteers, but they further defame the volunteer firefighters, because one person did something stupid?? What about the fact that it was the Bristol Police, and NOT the Bensalem Police that discovered this criminal ring?? I would love for ANY paid firefighter to explain this fact away. I would also love for them to explain away how Union Fire Company’s boat was sold to another volunteer fire company, and that the grant went to that fire company, NOT the township!! Please also explain how Dave Jerri, Jr. was ACQUITTED of Workman’s Compensation Insurance Fraud, after it was proven in court, that the ONLY reason this was done, was on the word of Fred Harran, and a questionable witness for the township that had drug issues.
