Time to Get Down To Business!!

I have to say, that Monday was absolutely awesome!! We really made the council look bad, and they didn't know what hit them. Fred Harran's responses were priceless!! With all those lies he told to the council, and Harris, I am beginning to think he believes them. Best of all, we have Joey D caught in a lie concerning the Safer Grant! Boy, do we ever have them in a bind!! Also, I just got done speaking with several people from Union Fire department, and at this moment, they are changing thier voter registration to Democrat!! I also got a phone call from one of the Union Fire Firefighters, who is rounding up a whole bunch of other firefighters to come to the next council meeting on July 11th. As many of you know, I am a wrestling fan, and there is a guy who calls himself Taz, and his favorite expression, is "The mood is about to change!". Well guess what??? It sure is!! The next council meeting is coming soon, so we all need to support these guys. Firefighters, we came out and spoke out on your behalf, now we ask that you come out to the next council meeting, and make YOUR voices heard!! Let "Emperor Freddie" know that his lies won't be tolerated, and let Joey D know that he won't get away with the lies he told as well. I urge all of you, democrats and those firefighters who have had enough of "Emperor Freddie", to stand together, and tell them NO MORE!!

The police here do NOTHING to keep this out of our town. As a matter of fact, their SVU department brings the trash in!! How you ask?? They pose as teens to bring them in, so they can say "Look at the bad person we caught!", so Harran can get his 15 minutes of fame. Hey Freddie!! You were sooooo insistent on Union Fire Co. getting their staff criminal background checks, why not insist on this for places like a fast food joint!!! BTW...the state background checks are NOT enough!! N.C.I.C. anyone???

Last NIght's Council Meeting (06/27/2011)

1. On November 24, in the Bucks County Courier Times, as well as the televised December 6, 2010 budget meeting, there was an announcement that there was a budget deficit of over $6.5 million dollars, with a possible 2011 budget deficit of $9,807,895.00! During this time, we have not seen or heard anything SUBSTANTIAL as to bringing this deficit down. WE were BOTH wondering what you as council are SPECIFICALLY planning on doing to SUBSTANTIALLY bring this deficit down?
2. In light of this budget deficit, how does the township plan on paying for the newly established paid fire department?
3. When did the township realize that it would be necessary to take away money from the volunteer fire departments: before getting the Safer Grant, when the Safer Grant arrived, or over a year after the Safer Grant arrived? 
These were some of the many questions posed, by the Bensalem Democratic Organization, and myself, at last night’s council meeting. This was my first live council meeting I will admit, and was not expecting there to be multiple awards presentations, (though very worthy), of young children getting recognition for their artistic talents, as well as for those involved in the Bensalem Police Department Youth League Panel. Of course, no event in this area would be the same without “Mr. Media” himself, Fred “Where is my spotlight and mike” Harran. After all pomp and circumstance was said and done, Harran figured he would rattle us, by hovering around us, which didn’t work. The meeting went rather quickly, and when “Public Comment” came, it was the democrats turn to get the truth out, and did that ever occur!!
First Harris Martin, who is candidate for Auditor, came to the podium, and voiced his, as well as the Bensalem Democratic Organization’s support for Union Fire Company. He stated what many in the town feel, that what was done was an absolute abuse of power, which should NOT be tolerated. He also asked some very pointed questions concerning the $5.1 million dollar training center, (AKA, the 5 million dollar disaster!), and its lack of readiness.  He asked if the Turnpike Commission had been consulted on this structure and approved for its use, and if it was ready for live training fire exercises. Pizzo stated that the township owned it, and the turnpike had nothing to do with it. Harris Martin quickly pointed out that the fire fighters informed him, especially from Union, that there Turnpike Comission did not approve “practice fires” there, as a safety issue. Martin also stated that there were things missing from the center, which made it unacceptable for actual fire training, including utilities and working water! Harran, of course, told flat out un-truths, stating that the center was operational, citing it has a classroom, and working utilities, even going so far to say this was the first he had heard of these “complaints”. He then states that they are attempting to procure 2 four million dollar grants to obtain propane heating elements for simulation of fires.  If this is so, then why did you Mayor Joe say at its dedication that it was a completed fire center?? After all, this IS what got you re-elected for what now… 5th term!!  
Then I stood up, and asked the following questions:

This, of course, sprouted a long winded statement from Ed Kisselback, who really gave no answers. I again asked for specifics, as in name one thing that you are doing to alleviate this, and that was when Mr. Pizzo, interjected, and actually stated that the “Books were balanced”, and that no deficit existed, which was a LIE!! Of course, Pizzo in his condescending manner asked if the answers given satisfied my questions, and I point blanked said NO.
2.     In light of this budget deficit, how does the township plan on paying for the newly established paid fire department?
Of course, there was NO answer for this!
3.     When did the township realize that it would be necessary to take away money from the volunteer fire departments: before getting the Safer Grant, when the Safer Grant arrived, or over a year after the Safer Grant arrived? 
Of course, there was NO answer for this! However, Joey D had to interject something that was completely false, stating that the first year of the grant covered only 90%. I informed that based on my research, (Speaking to many firefighters who saw the grant and having seen the grant myself.), that this was not true, and I repeated this.
Council Candidate, Mary Jeffrey asked a very interesting question as to why there were TWO township solicitors there, to which they, as usual, had no straight answer to.

I am here to let the council, and Fred Harran know, that I have documentation to back up what I said last night, in regards to the grants, and that I have a copy of the township budget. I am going to be back to the next council meeting on July 11th, so I hope you will have HONEST answers to the questions I posed about the budget. If necessary, I will be at EVERY meeting, until late October, until I get my answer. So in short, unless you can prove to me in writing otherwise……………………
 YOU’RE LYING!!

Township Officials Caught LYING!!

I would highly encourage everyone to watch tonight's replay of last night's Bensalem Township Council Meeting. In particular, listen carefully to Public Comment around an hour or so into it. This is where the dems. and myself really put council and Harran on the spot, and caught them all LYING!!! Will fill you all in on the details later on today.

Tales of A Desperate Township

Not only is the township over six million dollars in the hole, but the school district is now grasping at straws to get money its NOT entitled to!! I just learned, the following information:
The police department has taken the cost of the School Resource Officer and placed the whole burden on the school district.The Township handed the school district a bill for over $190,000.00! This is the two salaries, benefits and vehicles! The police department used to pay half!
The police department benefits far more from the program then the school district does!


Looks like the township and the Police department are desperately looking for ways to get money to cover the budget gaps!

Just Speaking My Mind

I said this before, but evidently its NOT sinking in. I know there are certain people who are having a defeatist attitude because things haven't been going their way. I hear one side saying that whenever they help out a particular group, community, or neighborhood, come election day that group, community, or neighborhood is nowhere to be found at the election polls. To those individuals, I say Quit the defeatist attitude! Examine yourselves, and find out not why you were “abandoned”, but try to find out what you could have done better within yourselves with the situation, and use it as an opportunity to turn a failure into a success. Start working together amongst yourselves, and BE THE VOICE YOU WERE MEANT TO BE! When was the last time YOU went to a council meeting?? (I Know I have not been to any, YET, ( I watch them.)but I plan on it Monday, so I am challenging both the dems and the firefighters, to go to the next council meeting!!) I am also challenging those who have a conspiracy theory attitude, to either show evidence of this going on, or be silent. Just wondering, when was the last time ANY of you took the time to call/contact some of the very people that are being screwed over by the township/ Fred Harran, and said "Hello", and asked how they were? Maybe even offer a sympatheic ear, or assistance?? Things like this go a long way, you know. What I am trying ot say is that if you want something done, then do it!! For example: try going to a council meeting, and bring up the very issues you bring up during our meetings. To those seeking our help, I ask get your butts out to the next council meeting and start asking the questions and say the things you are saying to me!! Above all, keep going to every meeting (Councl), and do whatever you need to do to get answers!! A final thing you can do, is if you say you'll help us out at the polls, lit drop, etc. then keep your word!!
I know it takes courage, and there are risks, but if you don’t do something, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.

For Both Sides: I said this before, and I am saying it again:
Learn to meet each other halfway, and above all…………….

QUIT COMPLAINING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

A Response to Harran's Accusations Against Union

I just got in not to long ago, after taking  part in a charity event, and found this at my door. This was given to me this morning by a neighbor of Union Fire Company, and I wanted to share it with you, and this is also going to the press.

     I attended the meeting at the Union Fire Company and the Township meeting.  I have also been following the news reports of the suspension of operations for the Union Fire Company. I listened as Fred Harran spoke about public safety issues.  I have researched and discovered the following information.  This information has given me greater belief that the danger to public safety sits in the Director of Public Safety’s Office and the Mayor’s office.
Harran point 1:
The Chief of the Union Fire Company has not attended a township fire chief’s meeting in 15 months.
What I learned:
Chief Troisi works at night and is unable to attend these meetings.  What Fred Harran failed to mention was that Chief Troisi made sure that one of his command staff attended the meetings in his place.
Harran point 2:
Fred Harran has made numerous verbal and written requests for information regarding the purchase of the new marine unit.
What I learned:
The Union Fire Company began the process of upgrading its marine operations in 2005.  Chief Troisi regularly updated Fred Harran regarding the scope of this project and its progress. Fred Harran asked no questions and frequently joked that the project would not get funded.  Fred Harran offered no input or cooperation.  In fact, when Chief Troisi asked Fred Harran for a written policy for the use of the new marine unit by the police department Fred Harran refused to provide input or a policy! When Chief Troisi notified Fred Harran and the township that he had received federal funding for the project, Fred Harran and Deputy Director of Public Safety Ponticelli contacted the grantor and attempted on five separate occasions to provide false information to the federal government to stop the funding process.  When Union Fire Company complained to the Mayor he assured them that the interference would stop. Finally, the Federal Government told Bensalem to stop calling as ALL of their complaints were unfounded. This interference continued AFTER THE MAYOR TOLD FRED HARRAN TO STOP INTERFERING. 
Union Fire Company provided a copy of their grant application to Fred Harran as requested.  President Carmichael even took the time to explain how matching funds grant works to Fred Harran.
When the Union Fire Company and members of other township fire companies asked to see the SAFER grant, Fred Harran and the Mayor refused to provide the grant to them! This is the grant that funds the new paid fire service.  Not until after the township had this grant for OVER A YEAR did Fred Harran and the Mayor advise the fire service that they would have to take money away from them to pay for the fire service.  When the township was shown that the money that they were taking from the fire service was not enough to pay for the paid fire company, Fred Harran refused to address this issue.  When several members of the fire service approached council members (Pilieri and Kisselback) regarding this reduction in funding, they were told by these councilmen that they were never told that money would be taken away from the volunteer fire service to pay for the paid crew.  Reviewing council meetings I discovered Councilman Szafran asking Fred Harran how he intended to pay for paid fire crew.  Fred Harran could not provide a way to pay for them!
As of this date, Fred Harran and the Mayor have not provided to the fire service or the citizens of Bensalem a plan for paying for the paid fire crew.
Harran point 3:
February 2010, the Union Fire Company was on location for ½ hour before they noticed an adjacent building on fire.
What I learned:
Union Fire Company dispatched to the 300 block of Camer Drive for a smoke investigation.  It should be noted that the fire was eventually discovered in a building that was three businesses away from the building the Union Fire Company was dispatched to.
More alarming was the discovery that the Fire Marshal’s office and the police department had been investigating an arson fire in the building that the fire was eventually discovered in! This fire occurred a few days prior to the Union Fire Company being dispatched to the fire on Camer Drive.  This arson fire had been discovered by workers reporting for work at that company.  The fire was out when the employees arrived for work. The Union Fire Company was not aware of this arson attempt by the fire marshal’s office or the police department.  Union Fire Company did not learn of the arson attempt until they discovered the fire in the business three businesses away from their originally dispatched location additional the company summoned additional help.  When Cornwells Fire Company arrived on location, members of that fire company told the chief officers of the Union Fire Company of the previous arson. 
When Union Fire Company contacted Fred Harran and advised them that their members were needlessly placed in harm’s way due to the information regarding the previous attempted arson at the commercial building was not provided to them he replied; “I do not release information on active investigations”.  Does that mean it is more important to conduct the investigation then it is to protect the lives of firefighters responding to a building fire that has had previous attempts to burn it down?  My Harran’s statement that the investigation is more important than the safety of fire personnel is RIDICULOUS at best and THOUGHTLESS AND DANGEROUS at the worst.
Fred Harran had the nerve to complain about the fire companies ½ locating the source of a smoke condition in a building three businesses away from the source of the fire when HE HAD SPECIFIC INFORMATION THAT WOULD HAVE REDUCED THE UNNECCESSARY EXPOSURE OF FIREFIGHTERS TO AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS CONDITION.
Harran point 4:
When the township requested that all fire companies permit the township to audit their books, the Union Fire Company responded with a letter from their attorney.
What I learned:
Union Fire Company DID NOT object to the audit.  Union Fire Company objected to the fire company having to pay for an audit that the township requested.  In fact, the township changed its policy and agreed with the Union Fire Company that the township would pay for the audit.
Harran point 5:
Union Fire Company did not attend a training program for all township command personnel.
What I learned:
 Union Fire Company had a previous commitment scheduled well in advance of this training session.  Despite numerous requests by the Union Fire Company Fred Harran has NOT provided a copy of the Township Emergency Management Plan to the fire company.  In fact, I checked with the other five fire companies.  They DO NOT have a copy of the plan or the command structure for the township in the event of a disaster.  I checked with the township, there is not a copy of the Township Emergency Management Plan available to the community either!  This is in direct violation of Federal and State laws pertaining to emergency management.  This despite the township has adopted the National Incident Management System and the National Response Plan.

Harran point 6:
Union Fire Company has responded with two personnel on a fire truck to beat the paid fire company to the scene of a fire.
What I learned:
First, the two members of the fire company that were responding this way are no longer members of the fire company!
Second, there is no evidence that they were doing this to beat the paid fire company to the scene of a fire. 
Third, the paid fire engine responds with two people on the fire truck.  This is in violation of the national standard for a paid fire company (NFPA 1710). The paid fire engine is supported by two additional paid firefighters responding in a non-firefighting vehicle and the fire inspectors.  What is the difference if the fire inspectors support the volunteer fire company (as was their original intent) or the paid fire engine with two members?
When asked about this, Fred Harran responded; “we are here to discuss the Union Fire Company, not the paid fire company.”

Harran point 7:
During a trench rescue, a Chief acted unsafely.
What I learned:
The Chief that was coordinating the rescue is a member of the Bucks County Technical Rescue Team.  Fred Harran would not say what the chief had done unsafely.  In fact, this chief coordinated a rescue that limited exposure to danger to the first responders calmed the person in distress and affected a text book rescue.  I further learned that Fred Harran made no mention of this to the Union Fire Company until the public meeting!

Harran point 8:
Chief Troisi left the scene of a building fire to respond to an alarm call.
What I learned:
Chief Troisi arrived late to the building fire.  A command structure was already in place and functioning properly.  Before being briefed by the incident commander to assume command, the alarm call came out and he responded with the cover companies.  Though many disagreed with the Chief’s decision, there was no danger placed on the personnel operating at the building fire.

Harran point 9:
Information from Chiefs meetings is being leaked out on the internet.
What I learned:
Fred Harran provided no evidence that the information being leaked out on the internet was coming from the Union Fire Company.  There were five other fire companies and one rescue squad in attendance at these meetings.
Harran point 10:
April 19, 2011 members of the Union Fire Company responded to the fire department five minutes after the after recall.
What I learned:
This occurs in all six of the volunteer fire companies.  Once the firefighter’s pager is activated the firefighters respond to the emergency.  Until the firefighters reach the fire station and man a piece of equipment equipped with a radio they WOULD NOT LEARN OF THE RECALL OF THE ASSIGNMENT. There is no recall activated over the paging system for the firefighters.
Either Fred Harran is unaware of the way the volunteer system works, which would be shocking considering he is the Public Safety Director or this is a sad attempt to discredit the dedicated members of the Union Fire Company.  It is interesting to note that Fred Harran did not say that the responding firefighters were in violation of any law or driving recklessly.  He only stated that they were utilizing a blue light to respond to their fire station in accordance with the law. 

Harran point 11:
April 19 2011, Union Fire Company delayed supplying water to the paid fire company.
What I learned:
Initially Chief Troisi was accused of refusing to supply water to the paid fire company at a fire on State Road.  When the Union Fire Company heard of these rumors they contacted Chief Troisi.  When Chief Troisi contacted Fred Harran to address these rumors Fred Harran threatened to arrest the chief for interfering with an investigation.
When it was learned that Chief Troisi DID NOT refuse to give water to the paid fire company it changed to DELAYED GIVING WATER to the paid fire company.  When Union Fire Company requested to know who accused the chief of refusing to give water to the paid fire company, Fred Harran refused to provide the information.
The crew of the Union Fire Company engine that DID supply water to the paid fire company was NEVER INTERVIEWED by Detective Clark.  There is no evidence that the Union Fire Company refused to or delayed supplying water to the paid fire company.
In the month of April, the Union Fire Company filed a complaint against Fred Harran for his continued harassment of Chief Troisi and his unprofessional conduct.  As of June, this complaint has NOT BEEN RESPONDED TO BY THE MAYOR.
When the Union Fire Company contacted Fred Harran regarding a member of the rescue squad giving orders to the fire company and walking around and into the building that was on fire without any protective equipment, no action was taken.
Harran point 12:
April 19, 2011 two non-firefighting members of the Union Fire Company were allowed on the scene of a fire in command vests.
What I learned:
They were photographers for the fire company that photograph the incidents for the fire service.  They were never in the “hot zone” or exposed to hazardous conditions.  They were wearing reflective vests, not with command designations.
I investigated and learned that the other five fire companies also have personnel that are photographers for their organizations.  The other five fire companies have never had these issued addressed by Fred Harran.
Harran point 13:
April Chiefs meeting Union Fire Company Deputy Chief yelled and acted inappropriately.
What I learned:
The Deputy Chief was upset with the Townships continued attempts to take money away from the volunteer fire service.  The Deputy Chief was upset with the township now trying to take away money (Foreign Insurance Tax) money that the fire companies receive from the state.  Union Fire Company properly manages its Foreign Insurance Tax monies which they use to purchase safety equipment for its firefighters and fire apparatus.
The Union Fire Company (and several of the other five fire companies that are too afraid to speak out) has no confidence in the townships ability to manage this money as they have shown they had no plan or ability to pay for and operate the paid fire company.
THE POOLING OF THE MONEY WOULD BENEFIT THE TOWNSHIP AND THE ONE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY THAT HAS A HISTORY OF POORLY MANAGING THEIR FINANCES.
The Deputy Chief was further upset with the system that the township wants to establish for the use of the Foreign Insurance Tax money.  First, a committee would be created with representation from each fire company, after the committee agrees on what should be funded; it proceeds to Fred Harran for approval.  Fred Harran has stated on numerous occasions that he has little to no training regarding the fire service.  Why should he be placed in a position to approve or deny funding?  After Fred Harran, it would go to the Mayor for approval.  Does the Mayor have any fire training?  Or will these two continue to rely on the same people who spent over $5,000,000.00 on a fire training center that you CANNOT CONDUCT LIVE FIRE TRAINING IN?
I WOULD BE UPSET TO IF MY ORGANIZATION WAS COMPETENT IN HANDLING ITS FINANCES AND THEN LEARN THAT THEIR FINANCES WOULD BE TURNED OVER TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE A HISTORY OF MISMANAGEMENT OF FINANCES. DON’T BELIEVE ME?  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE $6,500,000.00 TOWNSHIP DEFICIT FOR 2010!


Harran point 14:
Union Fire Company does not submit background checks for all its members.
What I learned:
Union Fire Company DOES supply a list of all its current members and new members to the township. 
Harran point 15:
Statement has been made over the phone by Chief Troisi that he does not have to follow the directions of the township or the Director of Public Safety.
What I learned:
There is NO EVIDENCE that this ever occurred.  Chief Troisi denies making the statement (I overheard this denial at the township meeting). The only evidenced that this occurred is the statement of Fred Harran.
Harran point 16:
During a call a Union Fire truck left the scene to return to the fire station and pick up additional personnel.
What I learned:
It is not uncommon for apparatus not committed to operations on a fire scene to return and pick up additional members of the fire company to work at the scene.  Fred Harran did not specify what type of fire truck left the scene.  Was it a truck that was pumping water then left the scene?  I learned that it was the fire company TAC truck that left the scene returned to the fire station, picked up additional personnel and returned to the scene. 
I also learned that another fire company frequently permits its members to respond to the scene of calls outside of its first response area.  They do not report to specific on scene commanders.  This is in violation of national safety standards. 
I continued looking into this and discovered that part time paid personnel respond in their fire company vehicles to calls after they are no longer working in the township and their fire companies are not dispatched to the incident.  This is in violation of township procedures and national standards.

    I learned that the Union Fire Company expressed concerns about the location and type of construction of the training center to Fred Harran.  These concerns were never addressed.  AS A RESULT WE AS TAXPAYERS HAVE WASTED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. 
    When Union Fire Company attempts to improve service to the community (by adding an advanced life support ambulance) IT IS INTERFERED WITH BY FRED HARRAN AND TOLD THAT IT IS NOT NEEDED.  Even though as a result of the Union Fire Company’s effort to establish an ambulance service, the Bensalem Rescue Squad moved an ambulance to the Cornwells Fire Company (on a part time basis).
    The public should feel free to contact the Union Fire Company (as I did) to discuss their plans to increase services while reducing the tax burden on the community.
Or we could continue to wait for Fred Harran to admit he needs yet another tax increase to support programs he has created.

Sound Familiar Anyone??


I am writing this to see if anyone has information regarding the gym being built at the high school. What is the cost of the gym?
Several years ago, the township received a $2,000,000.00 grant from the outgoing Governor of Pennsylvania for a community center.
The Mayor said it would cost too much money to hire personnel to run the community center.
I understand that the money was given to the school district to build the new gym (it wasn't given back to the state). This was done with the understanding that the community will be able to use the gym.
I am sure for safety reasons that the public will not be permitted to use the gym during school hours. I also believe that the public will not be able to use the gym after school when the students have after school activities.
That leaves the hours after 10:00 at night and before school starts in the morning for the public to use the gym.
I believe that would require that the school district hire personnel to run the gym for the public! As the school board has just raised taxes (again), how much more will they have to be raised to hire all these additional employees or pay overtime to run the gym after hours?
What about the activities that would have utilized the community center that cannot be carried out in the new gym?

Citizens Speak Out!!!

This was given to me, by a concerned citizen of this town. You'll want to read it.



After reading the news articles, watching the news reports and attending the meetings at the Union Fire Company and Penn Ryn mansion, the residents of Bensalem still do not have a clear understanding of what the issue was/is between the Union Fire Company and Bensalem Township.
Director Harran gave 18 incidents throughout the last 18 months of what he believed were "threats to public safety" against the Union Fire Co. When someone asked who reported these issues and Harran said he could not disclose that information. Are there any incidents reported against the other 5 fire departments? If so, what were they? If not, then it is obvious that the township was targeting Union.
Harran also mentioned that the other 5 Chiefs voted to close down Union. If that was the case, then why were they not at the meetings, so the residents could ask them why they felt this was necessary.
Harran also stated that Union did not follow the "rules". What are these rules and where are they to be found? He also claimed their members did not have background checks. Which members and how many is he referring to? What background check is acceptable? The one you can pay $10 online and receive your background check from the Pennsylvania State Police, or do all background checks for volunteer organizations in Bensalem have to be run by the Police department?
He also, could not answer who specifically would be on the oversight board the township wants to establish to oversee Union. It is very disheartening that Union was forced to acquiesce to the Township demands in order to reopen their station. By doing so they showed that they are truly dedicated to the safety of the residents and businesses in their district. Unfortunately, they are getting a chief shoved down their throats that no member of Union respects or wants. How can this be a good thing for safety when the crew can't trust their chief like they did with Chief Troisi?
The Mayor and Director seem to forget they are public servants. The residents who are taxpayers and voters are paying their salaries and they forget they are working for the residents. Maybe if the residents shut down the government in Bensalem and the Police Department and whoever the residents decide they can work with be brought in to replace the Mayor and Director and add an oversight committee, the Township would be singing a different song.
All they have done is alienate residents and put the Union firefighters in an untenable position.


Just so everyone knows, Harran could not specifically name all 18 laundry list items against Union, because THERE WERE NONE!!
I am learning more on this as time goes, but it is clear to me, that Fred Harran cannot be counted on to tell the truth....... FOR ANYTHING

Who's Next??

Remember Martin Niemöller anyone? He is perhaps best remembered for the following quotation:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.
Well, this past week proved this quotation to be very true, when there was absolutely no fire fighter or fire chief brave or honorable enough, to speak on behalf of Union Fire Company. During this "dog and pony show" of a meeting this past Wednesday, Harran outlined 18 alleged issues of what he believed were "threats to public safety" against the Union Fire Company, none of which could be proven true. Despite this fact, Harran still got his way in the placement of Ray Hackman as the new chief. A great deal of township residents, including myself are wondering how he could have achieved such a thing, considering Union did NOTHING wrong. Township Council Candidate, Mary Jeffrey, and myself confronted Harran, asking for specifics concerning the alleged violations, during the previous days meeting held by Union, but he refused to say anything. We also asked for information on the investigation that had been done by the Bensalem Township Police Department concerning the water incident, with Vince Troisi. He actually had the nerve to say, that the Bensalem Police did not have to give information out on the investigation against Vince Troisi, because we are civilians! Harran still states that Union/Troisi failed to assist/ delayed in assisting, the paid fire company, in a water sharing issue, while Union still maintains it did so with NO delays. Union has stated that this was being done as an act of retaliation for Vince Troisi's testimony in 2009, on behalf of Perry Ferrara, citing numerous instances of Harran and Ponticelli attempting to sabotage their grants for the rescue boats, and other endeavors. While Harran denies this, I learned this to be true after a conversation with a homeland security agent, who is possibly investigating issues concerning the Safer Grant at this moment!
While I applaud the residents of Bensalem, for taking the time to show your support, I want to say something to the firefighters, and the fire chiefs who were either too afraid, or too completely in Harran's back pocket, to have stood up for Union: I am here to let you know, that just like the person who made this quotation, you could be next on Harran's chopping block, and who will be there for you??

TIME TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

ITS VERY EVIDENT THAT THIS "REINSTATEMENT" SMELLS WORSE THAN LIMBURGER CHEESE. THE LOYAL PEOPLE OF THIS FIRE COMPANY NEED AND DESERVE OUR SUPPORT, AND SO DOES STEVE CARMICHAEL, CHIEF TROISI, AND ED BOMENTRE. THIS IS AN INVITATION TO ALL FIREFIGHTERS WHO DISAGREE WITH WHAT OCCURED, AS WELL AS THIS TOWNSHIP'S LEADERSHIP, TO COME OUT TO THE NEXT B.D.O. MEETING TOMORROW NIGHT AT 7PM AT THE BENSALEM LIBRARY.

ROTTEN FATHERS OF THE BIBLE

This is something I have posted on here before, but I feel it necessary to continue sharing this. Enjoy!!

Introducing, The Rotten Fathers Of The Bible!!
The following, is a compiled list of some of the most neglectful and dysfunctional fathers ever in Scripture:
1. Isaac: His showing favoritism, led to Jacob's deception of him, and Esau, resulting in a major feud. (Genesis 25:27-29; Genesis 27)
2. Jacob: He was guilty of the same thing his dad Isaac did. His favoritism of Joseph over his 10 other brothers, resulted in a cruel act of spite performed on Joseph, and caused him (Jacob) to believe he lost Joseph for good.
(Genesis 37:2-4, 22-37)
3. Eli: This man overindulged and failed to discipline his rebellious sons, so he paid for it with his life and the lives of his sons. (I Samuel 2:12-36, 3:11-14, 4:11-18)
4. Samuel: He repeated the mistakes of Eli, and it wound up costing him a lot more than he bargained for when Israel demanded a king. (I Samuel 8:1-5)
5. King Saul: Now here is one messed up man. This man was so paranoid over David, he feared for his own throne, (Which he knew God had given to David.), he tried to get his own son Jonathan to kill him. When Jonathan refused, he tried to kill his own son!! (I Samuel 19, 20)
6. King David: Why King David, you ask?? Even though he was "a man after God's own heart", his affair with Bathsheba, as well as marrying three other women, resulted in the following catastrophes:
A. Amnon raping Tamar (II Samuel 13:1-19)
B. Absalom killing Amnon (II Samuel 13:20-29)
C. Absalom's attempt to take David's throne (II Samuel 15-18) Even after Absalom Was Killed, David STILL mourned his Death.
7. King Ahab: This evil man, was so influenced by his wicked wife, Jezebel, that his overindulgence, and lack of discipline, produced one of the most evil females in Judah's history; Athaliah (I Kings 16-22, II Kings 8:16-25, II Kings 11)
8. King Herod: This man's lust was so evident, that he willingly murdered John the Baptist, to pacify not only Herodias, but also to potentially seduce and ingratiate himself to her daughter. (Mark 6:21-28)
What do these men have in common, you ask????
THEY ALL FAILED THEIR CHILDREN IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!
Some failed, by not spending time with their children, others by not providing the right discipline, others, by putting down, and showing favoritism to their own children. Some failed, by their unhealthy obsessions over their children, causing great shame.
Fathers everywhere need to take heed to this advice, and really take time to think about just how they're raising their children. Are they raising them in the right kind of love, or are they showing favoritism among their own children?? Do they know the boundaries of acceptable behavior with their own children, or are they violating their innocence?? Are they accepting their children for who they are, or are they CONSTANTLY verbally and physically berating their children, thus going against Ephesians 6:4??
WHAT TYPE OF FATHER ARE YOU??????



Why do I post this, you ask? I say this not to spread "Lies and Hate", but because I happen to care about you, your family, and your eternal souls! I say this, because I know of SEVERAL people in township government, and law enforcement who have allowed their children to either get away with breaking the law, or have scarred their children with their own sinful actions. I know of multiple instances of these very things, but because of the fact that some of these alleged instances have involved minor children, but I won't give names and/or go into detail. I am telling the fathers of these children, to REPENT, and start acting like the fathers they say that they are. Don't sweep "Junior's" criminal activity under the rug, but have him answer for their crimes. Quit disrespecting your spouse, and family through your unfaithfulness, and dragging them into it!

BE A REAL FATHER!!
